While we have a basic idea of what to expect from Suicide Squad, plot details have so far been kept at a minimum. However, Entertainment Weekly has shed some light on what we should expect, revealing some key new details in the process. Confirming that the movie takes place after the events of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Amanda Waller suggests assembling Task Force X in order to deal with the next time an alien visits the Earth. Her first target? Possessed archaeologist June Moone.

However, the programme doesn't get approved until Midway City is targeted by a mysterious and powerful mystical threat and in return for this small taste of freedom is to, "Obey orders or die, a rule strictly enforced by squad leader Rick Flag (Joel Kinnaman), his samurai Katana (Karen Fukuhara), and the explosive devices inserted into their necks courtesy of Wayne Enterprises." So, is Batman aware of what Waller is up to then? (and willing to see his foes blown up if they misbehave). We'll see.

The site also confirms that we'll see Jared Leto's Clown Prince of Crime in the present day rather than flashbacks alone. "Throwing a wrench into all these plans is the tatted Gotham City arch-criminal, the Joker, and his laser-like plan to reunite with his true love, Harley, mission be damned." They go on to point out that these villains could very well end up looking for redemption, so between that and The Joker trying to win Harley back, it's clear that there's going to be a lot going on in Suicide Squad...

Interesting. Batman seems to be either aware of the existence of the SS, and supports it on some level, or Waller just got her hands on WayneTech somehow.

It's gonna be great and you know those explosive devices will have trackers in them as well so Bats can keep tabs on these S.O.Bs
