A new incarnation of one of the most iconic superheros of all time is coming to the CW's Supergirl. According to THR, the next actor to don the red cape for the small screen will be 28 year-old Tyler Hoechlin (Teen Wolf, Road To Perdition, Fifty Shades of Grey).
Here's what the show's Executive producer Andrew Kreisberg had to say about the casting:
"Greg [Berlanti] and I have wanted to work with Tyler for ages, so this worked out perfectly because Tyler is Superman. We are so thrilled and humbled to add another amazing actor to the legacy of this iconic character."
Hoechlin will be the second actor to portray the fully-grown Superman/Clark Kent on The CW, following Tom Welling's 10 season-run on Smallville. Supergirl returns for its sophomore season this Fall.
