I'm a local delivery man in Plano and the surrounding area and just caught wind that the new superman movie is filming a scene on where a school bus goes off a bridge. It's not in Plano but south in Millington...

From the local paper...

For three days, a bridge in La Salle County will be closed while Hollywood works its magic.

A scene from the upcoming "Superman: Man of Steel" movie, some of which is being shot in Plano, will be filmed on the U.S. 52 bridge over the Fox River east of Serena.

Illinois Department of Transportation media spokesman Josh Kauffman said the Warner Brothers production company was given permission and permits to close the bridge and adjacent highway sections for filming a rumored traffic accident scene on the span. Kauffman said the route will be reopened by Saturday.

The big budget production is expected to be a boon for the local economy in the Plano area, which will be portrayed as Clark Kent's hometown of Smallville. Exterior sets have been built throughout the city and thousands have applied in the hopes of being hired as extras for the filming.

The interesting part of this is that the ONLY thing of note on that section of road is this cemetery.

The reboot, "Superman: Man of Steel," soars into theaters nationwide June 14, 2013. It will star British actor Henry Cavill as Superman, Diane Lane as Martha "Ma" Kent, Kevin Costner as Jonathan "Pa" Kent, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Michael Shannon as Zod and Russell Crowe as Jor-El.

The movie's director is Zack Snyder, best known for his films "300" and "Watchmen."

Aww how sweet, we see a crossover from TDKR in this movie. They have named the local river in Kansas after recently deceased Wayne Enterprises head Lucius Fox.

And is that Mr. Bean's car in the first picture. Great cameo choice, he's one of my favorites!

All in all, you're probably right that this is filming at the cemetary, but it could be somewhere just off the road that they are filming at too.

It's strange that we can get epic pics and videos of the new Batman movie but the only thing we ever see of Superman is School buses and buildings???

@bazaboy241

Nice notice. That would kinda be a throwback to both "Smallville" and " Superman : The Movie". Anyway that cemetary scene makes me worry. If they are even thinking of killing Jonathan or Martha I'll be pissed.

Tornado scene...pfft. We had a tornado scene in SupermanIII and a huge one in the Smallville show.

I hope this one will at least be a little different.

And what's happening with the rest of the casting? Is casting completely done now?

@LP4....i think so....Luthor will not be in this one...and if he is it will be the last thing we see before the end credits.

Ben Hubbard will be an uncle to Clark Kent as Jonathan's closest friend.

This movie is going to rock!! I'm happy they've left Luthor out, but can sooo see him showing up by the end of this movie.... What I'd really like to see is a reference to doomsday instead!!! Can't wait for 2013 :)

Casting should be about done if they're about to start filming. The cast is full of main/re-occuring characters already so any other casts will probably be for smaller roles.

@ar8898: I find it stranger that I get more excited about MOS location and filming news than I do about anything TDKR related these days.

@naterator- Thanks man for the heads-up. It just seems like casting has been dragged on and on and on and on forever.

As for lex...darn shame he missed his chance at a proper portrayal. He better at least be in a sequel.

Oh and WTF? Why use Faora but not Jax-Ur?

One of the best rumors i ever heard regarding the film was the use of Jax-Ur seeing as how he's the rogue scientist of Krypton, he'd be trying to take earth's technology and raise it to Kryptonian levels. Plus he always looked cool in the animated series.

But instead...Faora?? The chick who Ursa was based on? This is looking more and more like yet another Donner-tribute.
