New TMNT 2 Concept Art Offers Alternate Takes On Casey Jones, Splinter, Shredder, Krang, And More

This Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out Of The Shadows concept art features alternate designs for several of the movie's characters, and it turns out Casey Jones almost looked a lot more comic-accurate.

This sequel had its moments, but was viewed by the majority of fans as a disappointment. One of the biggest gripes was the new live-action interpretation of hockey mask-wearing vigilante, Casey Jones. Stephen Amell's take really had nothing in common with the character from the comics and animated series, and looked completely different to boot. As you can see, at one time we may have gotten a version that was a lot closer to the original Casey... in appearance, at least.

The Ninja Turtles come into conflict with T.C.R.I. scientist Dr. Baxter Stockman with the association of the Foot Clan and the return of the Shredder, who has hired Stockman to create mutants of their own in the form of Bebop and Rocksteady and an unknown invasion above New York City. To prevent the end of the world, the turtles and their human friends April O'Neil and Vern Fenwick comes to the aid with vigilante Casey Jones.

Starring Megan Fox, Stephen Amell, Johnny Knoxville, Tony Shalhoub, Alan Ritchson, Noel Fisher, Jeremy Howard, Brian Tee, Will Arnett, Gary Anthony Williams, and WWE Superstar Sheamus, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out Of The Shadows is out now.

Why couldn't Casey look like this instead?

@BlackIceJoe - Yeah, he's the only thing I'd have changed about the movie. He was too much "Arrow, Season 4", when he should have been "Arrow, Season 1".

Haven't seen the movie, but watched a bunch of the action scenes on youtube. Underwhelming. They just needed to do more, and slightly less silly. Also Krang's robot suit should have kept the head that was shown in the initial trailer or TV spot when he first appeared. Instead they gave home an exhaust port, as if they needed to justify his appearance and functionality. He looked better with an actual head. All the same, it can be for kids without being childish.

I would like an alternate take on the movies. Ditch Platinum Dunes above all else and ideally return to animatronic costumes.

The Nickelodeon show is a perfect example of how to combine the old and new into an exciting and appealing package.

Transformers, GI Joe, and TMNT all need to die and be reborn in cinema.

@exies7 - They can be happy with their five Transformers movies, two GI Joe movies, and two TMNT movies.

Casey Jones only wore his mask once in the movie. I know some times characters need an "update" to make it into the movie but Casey Jones didn't. He's a vigilante that uses what's readily available to him. That'll always appeal to moviegoers.

@WruceBayne -

did this Casey Jones make a bunch of sports puns/references??

@imkennypowers - he made a couple. He was more of Casey Jones than "The Cop who can't cut it" in the movie we got.

Casey and shredder look way better in this art than in the actual movie. I really liked bebop and rocksteady though
