Today, we have new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles concept art that was created by Jerad S. Marantz. The images feature alternate designs for Master Splinter and Leonardo, Raphael and Donatello. What's especially interesting is that his version of the Turtles were less bulky than the final versions. Update! Some images were removed at the request of the artist.

The city needs heroes. Darkness has settled over New York City as Shredder and his evil Foot Clan have an iron grip on everything from the police to the politicians. The future is grim until four unlikely outcast brothers rise from the sewers and discover their destiny as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The Turtles must work with fearless reporter April and her wise-cracking cameraman Vern Fenwick to save the city and unravel Shredder’s diabolical plan.

awful.... splinter is only one that looks OK... loved the previous concept art for bebop n rocksteady... i dont want realistic, i want cartoon styled characters

For what it was, I thought the film was great. However I'm gonna disagree with you guys, this concept art (turtles & splinter) is poor in comparison to what the film offered.

I'm not really crazy about any of these. The talent of the artist is outstanding but I just don't like the design. The turtles look too feminine too.

Uh...I would've seen this movie opening night if it had that version of Krang in it. Still haven't/won't see it though.

These are not very good, the other concept arts are way better. The turtles are really weird looking. They look like they are on crack.

All and I mean ALL the concept art for the Turtles have nostrils. At no point in the comics did you see their nostrils. They have rounded snouts. Period. That's what I want in the sequel. And I like the idea of Krang in the sequel, and Bebop and Rocksteady too, but c'mon! Call Dave Rapoza. Even though his Turtle designs had nostrils, they actually LOOKED like the TMNT we all love!

I thought the TMNT reboot was really fun and entertaining. It wasn't perfect, but I had a lot of fun with it. Looking forward to the sequel.

The reboot looked like shit are you people high? this has a cartoon mashed with a realistic feel. it would have been load better and more in line with the way the turtles are supposed to look. not like a mash up of a ninja shrek and hulk.

When I show my kids TMNT for the first time, it'll be the 90's movies followed by the 80's TV show. Not this Michael Bay over produced garbage. Now I just need a woman to trick into planting my seed...

I get the spikes. Tortoises and other varieties have spiky scales. A bit too many for my opinion, but I dig the rougher look for him. I think all of these are better than the steroid-induced, "teenaged", Shrek versions of the turtles, however, I still enjoyed the movie. I wouldn't mind a redesign in the next movie, in all honesty, however.
