Grant Gustin Has Revealed The Title For THE FLASH Season 3 Premiere & It Should Make You Very Happy

It's happening! The Flash season three is officially adapting one of the Scarlet Speedster's most popular stories - Flashpoint!

Earlier this afternoon, star Grant Gustin took to Twitter to share that he had just read the season three premiere script, the title of which he said he couldn't reveal. However, after receiving permission from executive producer Greg Berlanti, Gustin quickly let the world know that the title of the season premiere is exactly what many had been predicting since the game-changing season finale: "Flashpoint." It's not a shocker by any means, but it's certainly nice to know that Flashpoint is indeed coming to the DC TV universe.

As for how this storyline will affect Supergirl, Arrow, and DC's Legends of Tomorrow, which are all expected to be a part of the epic four-part crossover this fall, Entertainment Weekly suggests those three shows will continue on in their respective timelines while Barry explores his newly-created one. Whether or not the Flashpoint resolution will come before the crossover event, during, or after is yet-to-be seen, although EW adds that Flashpoint may actually open a door for the Crisis on Infinite Earths story that's been teased since the pilot episode. Check out Gustin & Berlanti's tweets below:

So, what do you guys think? Sound off with your thoughts below!

Last year, the S.T.A.R. Labs Particle Accelerator exploded, creating a dark matter storm that struck forensic scientist Barry Allen — bestowing him with super-speed and making him the fastest man alive. But Barry wasn’t the only person who was given extraordinary abilities that night. The dark matter also created meta-humans — many of whom have wreaked havoc on the city. With the help of the S.T.A.R Labs team, Caitlin Snow, Cisco Ramon and Dr. Harrison Wells, Barry protects the people of Central City from these powerful new threats as The Flash. Following the defeat of Allen's arch-nemesis Eobard Thawne (aka Reverse Flash), Team Flash must quickly turn their attention to the singularity swirling high above Central City, consuming everything in its path. Armed with the heart of a hero and the ability to move at super speeds, Barry charged into the eye of the singularity, but can he actually save his city from impending doom?

The Flash features:
Grant Gustin as Barry Allen/Flash
Candice Patton as Iris West
Danielle Panabaker as Caitlin Snow
Carlos Valdes as Cisco Ramon
Tom Cavanagh as Dr. Harrison Wells
Jesse L. Martin as Detective Joe West
John Wesley Shipp as Henry Allen
Michelle Harrison as Nora Allen
Teddy Sears as Hunter Zolomon/Zoom
Tony Todd as voice of Zoom
Keiynan Lonsdale as Wally West
Shantel VanSanten as Patty Spivot
Violett Beane as Jesse Quick

Im super excited for this.

its not going to be easy, obviously some things are going to end up changed.
you could easily make flashpoint it's own live-action feature film.

How would it affect Supergirl if she exists in a seperate universe.

@BlackStar25 - I'm thinking this Flashpoint is what is going to enable Supergirl to crossover easily...and probably without some of the current cast.

@BlackStar25 - The Events of Flashpoint could merge their universes together. Just like the actual event in the comics.

@Philvis - I'm pulling for Crisis on Infinate Earths to do that

Nice! Hopefully we get some crossovers earlier in the season this time to give this story a big scope.

Hmm, probably mostly in name only but it should be fun to see a loose adaption of it. Flashpoint is a great story.

@exies7 - For me, I definitely prefer it to be a loose adaptation. If DC has made a comic and animated film, I'm not too interested in seeing the same thing again. I'd rather the tv show use the idea behind Flashpoint to drive an original story.
