THE WALKING DEAD's Michael Cudlitz Seems To Have Dropped A Pretty Big Season 7 SPOILER

In a new interview, The Walking Dead actor Michael Cudlitz discusses both the comic book and small screen fates of his character, Abraham. Warning: potential SPOILERS for the upcoming seventh season ahead...

While we all impatiently wait to find out who'll meet a grisly demise at the business end of Negan's baseball bat, Lucille, in the season 7 premiere of AMC's The Walking Dead, Michael Cudlitz (Abraham) may have narrowed things down a bit by revealing one character who will be surviving the tense encounter we witnessed in the season 6 finale.

In the comics, Abraham is killed with an arrow through the eye, but that fate was actually given to Denise a couple of episodes before the finale. Because of this, many fans assumed that it'd be Abraham "taking it like a champ" from Negan, but it doesn't look like that's going to be the case.

In an interview with PopSugar, Cudlitz dicusses the ramifications of placing Denise in front of that arrow instead of Abraham, and seems to confirm that the tough-as-nails redhead will walk away from that little gathering with his head intact.

“Her death spurs on a whole bunch of other stuff, and then the audience knows that Abraham will continue for a while now. Now we get to see what a world with Negan and Abraham both in it will be like. That’s something we don’t see in the graphic novels. So a lot of cool stuff happens. For me, knowing that his potential death had come and gone, it was a moment to go, “Oh cool, they really aren’t going to stick with what the graphic novel does.” As a fan of both the novel and the show, it was cool.”

Unless Cudlitz is deliberately trying to throw people off the scent, that seems like pretty definitive evidence that ol' Abraham will live to say "mother dick" another day. What do you guys think?

The Walking Dead returns to AMC in October.

He and Steven Yeun haven't been seen on set since they filmed the first episode. No way did Abe survive Negan's confrontation.

Cudlitz is just trying to throw us all off. I hope Abe survives but he hasn't been seen since the first episode which just confirms it.

Me when TWD returns in October and we see Negan kill Glenn AND Abraham;

Danbito
Danbito - 8/29/2016, 8:26 AM
@TheGoddamnPeel - Because they had to add SOME twist to the Negan kill after a finale cliffhanger that would otherwise end with *gasp* the comic death that everyone saw coming since S3.

@Danbito - I honestly thought it would be Michonne based on all the clues and was really looking forward to having Abraham for All Out War. But nope, Kirkman just throws in the pointless cliffhanger and kills off the two most likely characters to be killed off.
Danbito
Danbito - 8/29/2016, 1:52 PM
@TheGoddamnPeel - Michonne's untouchable now as filling in Andrea's comic storyline as Rick's girlfriend. Don't know why they bothered to save Abraham from his comic death, so much for Kirkman wanting him in "All Out War"

@Danbito - I like the theory that Abraham is only going to be in a coma and he'll wake once All Out War begins. Since when next season starts, we're going to have at least half a season of Rick just appeasing Negan and not fighting him.

Glenn's gotta be dead by this point, but I'm still trying to hold out some hope for Abraham cause he is my favourite character right now.

Im not sure if Negan kills any women... Doesn't he have a loose moral code about that kind of stuff?
Danbito
Danbito - 8/29/2016, 8:30 AM
@Kman - Negan's cool with killing women. But he's not with abusing them or sexually harassing them.

He has a moral code, it's just very warped.
Peel
Peel - 8/29/2016, 8:32 AM
@Kman - He killed Holly (Abraham's girlfriend) off-screen in the comics, and most recently, killed Alpha just for the sake of it.

It should be Glenn and Abraham.

Abraham first to give fans a misdirect into believing that Glenn wont die. Then Glenn just because Maggie shouts out.

I like how he is trying to keep everyone guessing but who has died has been made obvious if you have paid attention to who has and hasn't been seen filming episodes of the show.

I hope it's Glenn. I just feel the death will be cheapened if it is not him and someone else. I'd be shocked if it was Daryl or Maggie though. (However, Maggie --- if they make her like the comics, should live and become a badass.)

Abraham, when he does goes, I want to see die courageously. I don't want to see him die ala Tyreese where he avoids his comic book death only to later go out like a bitch.

Think Tara will take Holly's death in the comics, since Cudlitz said Denise's death will have a major impact.

Makes sense; we first met Tara at the gates of a prison, and she'll die ramming a truck into the gates of Sanctuary to destroy the Saviors. That'll make for a good twist.

The Spoiling Dead Fans have already revealed the 2 people killed in the first episode. AMC sent them a cease and desist so they took the piece down. You can still extrapolate based on their list of people that have shown up to film future episodes, though.

GreedoSarducci - 8/29/2016, 12:32 PM
@Doodlee - Yeah, Glenn and Abe. I don't mind spoiling it 'cause I'm done watching. Scott Gimple has slowly but surely ruined this show and his bullsh!t "who shot J.R. uh I mean Glenn" cliffhanger was the final straw. I'll read spoilers and recaps, but no more watching. Fvck 'em.

@GreedoSarducci - i'll probably binge watch once the new season is on netflix, but i'm done with the week to week disappointments.

I knew it! Killing Maggie is the only way to make him worse than the Governor. Killing a pregnant woman is a horid act that only a character like Negan could do.
Danbito
Danbito - 8/29/2016, 1:56 PM
@mcminnjb1990 - It's not Maggie who dies.
RancidBane
RancidBane - 8/29/2016, 2:04 PM
@Danbito - man i think it is. That's the only way they can make Negan the worst villain ever
Danbito
Danbito - 8/29/2016, 2:52 PM
@mcminnjb1990 - You don't to kill Maggie to make him the worst. There's reports of him feeding dog food to certain someone. And do you really want to know who dies? Like in all honesty?
RancidBane
RancidBane - 8/29/2016, 3:05 PM
@Danbito - sure spoilers don't bother me
Danbito
Danbito - 8/29/2016, 5:42 PM
@mcminnjb1990 - TSDF has been keeping up with who has shown up for filming. Maggie's shown up for filming episode 1,5, and 8. Glenn and Abe have only filmed for episode 1. Every other character have shown up for other episodes...except for these two. So Negan will kill these two in the premiere.
RancidBane
RancidBane - 8/29/2016, 5:48 PM
@Danbito - while I hope you're wrong film scheduling doesn't mean everything. They could be filming flashbacks, haunting scenes (a ghostly presents haunting the group)
Danbito
Danbito - 8/29/2016, 7:09 PM
@mcminnjb1990 - Well see, the group splits it seems on top of that. Maggie's scenes are at the Hilltop. Seems a stretch for Maggie to come back as a hallucination or flashback. And that still doesn't explain the discrepancy of Glenn and Abe's absence. Steven Yeun has been filming for a movie in Seoul. He couldnt have been going back and forth from Georgia to Seoul.
RancidBane
RancidBane - 8/29/2016, 7:19 PM
@Danbito - yeah he will get all his scenes when he is back from the movie that kinda stuff happens all the time. Movies and shows don't film in order
