Anthony Hopkins' All-Father ODIN Sports A Very Different Look In New THOR: RAGNAROK Set Photos

Thor: The Dark World left Odin's fate in the balance, but new photos from the set of Ragnarok might reveal where and how the All-Father has been; and he definitely seems out of his element.

Photos from yesterday’s filming of Thor: Ragnarok in Queensland, Australia, led us to think that the God of Thunder and the mischievous Loki had returned to Earth seeking a certain sorcerer (which may still come to fruition), but the most likely reason arrived on set today. The great Sir Anthony Hopkins has joined Chris Hemsworth and Tom Hiddleston in Brisbane (or “New York”) to start filming his return as Odin, King of Asgard, in the Marvel threequel.

There are some spoilers beyond this point, even in the set pics, so you’ve been warned!!!

We last saw Loki pretending to be Odin at the end of Thor: The Dark World which left the All-Father’s whereabouts unknown. However, these photos from the Ragnarok set feature Hopkins sporting a disheveled wig and beard, with sweatpants that’re barely covered, which might confirm rumors from January that said he’s been here on Earth for quite a while. In fact, the rumors claimed that Odin will be “wandering Earth as one of those crazy-looking ‘the end is nigh’ street-corner hobos, warning of the impending apocalypse,” i.e. Ragnarok. It was also hinted that Thor will visit his father on Earth, which set pics seem to have confirmed.

Thanks to The Courier-Mail, and Glenn Hunt, see Sir Anthony Hopkins before and after his complete Odin transformation, and alongside Ragnarok co-star Tom Hiddleston.

Marvel’s Thor: Ragnarok is directed by Taika Waititi, and it stars Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Tom Hiddleston (Loki), Idris Elba (Heimdall), Sir Anthony Hopkins (Odin), Tessa Thompson (Valkyrie), Karl Urban (Skurge), Mark Ruffalo (Hulk), with Jeff Goldblum (Grandmaster) and Cate Blanchett (Hela). And Thor: Ragnarok is set to open in theaters on November 3, 2017.
