Latest THOR: RAGNAROK Set Photos Tease LOKI's New Costume And A Mysterious New Character

Though they're mostly covered, Chris Hemsworth and Tom Hiddleston have suited up in Asgardian threads, while an unknown costumed actress has joined them and Anthony Hopkins on the set

On the first day of production in Brisbane, Queensland, Thor: Ragnarok's Chris Hemsworth and Tom Hiddleston were mostly seen wearing civilian clothes while filming for all to see. However, the last two days of the four-day shoot had required the Thor and Loki actors to suit up in their respective Asgardian garb, and to be joined by not only Sir Anthony Hopkins who looked quite different as Odin, but also an unknown actress heavily cloaked on the set.

Despite the Marvel crew seemingly going out of their way to make sure bystanders couldn’t see the costumes nor the scene being filmed, which takes place in a “New York City alley,” amateur photos show Hiddleston’s leathery green suit partially covered in between takes. Furthermore, only the bottom of Hemsworth’s new God of Thunder threads was visible.

As for the abovementioned mystery lady, The Courier Mail claimed her to be Cate Blanchett wearing the full Hela costume, while the Daily Mail suggests that it’s Jaimie Alexander finally making her return as Lady Sif. However, upon a closer look, both sources are wrong. The actress doesn’t appear to be any Thor: Ragnarok cast member previously-announced, so who is she in the film? We may not find out any time soon, especially considering filming has reportedly already moved back to Australia’s Gold Coast, but we can always speculate. Find out who we think it might be (and why) after you check out the set photos below.

Because the mystery actress is completely covered with a cloak, it’s hard to speculate which character she might be. However, you can see her black hair in the last photo above. In two pics here, you can see a crew member hauling costumes labeled “Hi Dad” and “Hi Mum” (via B1gr1g). Let’s take a wild guess and say that “Hi Dad” is referring to Anthony Hopkins’ disheveled Odin costume. If so, could that mean that the “Hi Mum” costume belongs to our mystery lady and is referring to the character known as Gaea, Thor’s biological mother? In the comics, she was one of the Elder Gods who materialized on Earth before any life appeared. And despite later merging with the Earth itself, Gaea had many humanoid forms, usually appearing as a young woman with long black hair; sounds like our girl doesn’t it?

Of course, it would seem a bit weird for Gaea to be interacting with Thor, Odin, and Loki in a New York alley, especially since Frigga is believed to be Thor’s birth mother in the movies. However, Thor: Ragnarok location manager Duncan Jones has teased there being “a few curveballs” in the scene (via 9 News) whatever that means. If not Gaea, who do you think?

Marvel’s Thor: Ragnarok is directed by Taika Waititi, and it stars Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Tom Hiddleston (Loki), Idris Elba (Heimdall), Sir Anthony Hopkins (Odin), Tessa Thompson (Valkyrie), Karl Urban (Skurge), Mark Ruffalo (Hulk), with Jeff Goldblum (Grandmaster) and Cate Blanchett (Hela). And Thor: Ragnarok is set to open in theaters on November 3, 2017.

She's not Gaea, Death maybe.

@TheBeard - i kind of hope Death is just in Thanos' head and not an actual entity. I know that goes against the comics, but I think it would be cooler if he's just batshit crazy and in love with this death hallucination only he sees. Makes him scarier. Think William Hurt's character in Mr Brooks, the guy in the head of Costner's serial killer that compells him to kill.

@connorblaze - They can play it like that with no one seeing her but him, but at the end they need to have someone like Vision see her too to make it extra creepy.
