SPOILERS: New THOR: RAGNAROK Details Revealed; Finally Getting PLANET HULK?

New Thor: Ragnarok story details have been revealed, and if accurate, it sounds like we're finally getting that Planet Hulk adaptation.

Take this with a pinch of salt for the time being, but a new report from Geek.com claims to reveal how The Hulk will factor into Thor: Ragnarok next year. Revealing that Hela manages to destroy Mjolnir and banish the God of Thunder from Asgard, the site adds that the hero apparently ends up not on Midgard, but an alien gladatorial planet instead. Knowing he needs to stop her and Loki, Thor fights his way through all of the opponents put before him so he can escape this world, but it's when he runs into the current champion that he gets an unpleasant surprise.

As you've probably already guessed, that's The Hulk, and "he’s managed to avoid reverting back to the Banner state since we last saw him in the Quinjet in Avengers: Age of Ultron. Hulk in Hulk form is pretty much unkillable, so he survived the trip to Sakaar (however he got there). His 'Banner' is starting to seep through into the Hulk persona, and because of the Hulk-Banner melding, Hulk actually remembers Thor and his relationship to him. That’s what starts the two on a Midnight Run to the MacGuffin that Thor desperately needs." That sounds awesome and all, but seeing as the script is still being worked on, it may be too soon to get excited!

Still, this sounds like a pretty cool way of utilsing the Planet Hulk storyline even if it isn't a direct adaptation which will lead to World War Hulk somewhere down the line. Do you hope this is how Thor: Ragnarok plays out? Share your thoughts in the usual place.

I'm sorry, but didn't Taika Waititi say that they hadn't even decided on characters and plot yet? This would be far too developed for that to be the case.

I simply cannot understand what these hacks hope to gain by reporting false information. Don't they know that eventually, the truth will come out?

So basically Hulk's jet flew in space despite it not being a spaceship and it being just a jet that would get burned up and destroyed leaving the Earth's atmosphere? And Hulk is on some planet in this jet which would take years for one to get to meaning he's been in Hulk mode for years in order to survive the atmosphere in space. Also how would Banner survive this journey given the lack of food on the quinjet?

This is without a doubt the most [frick]ing retarded thing I have ever heard of that makes no logically sense what so ever. Hulk would be dead dumbasses.

@LEVITIKUZ - bro....please dont take offense, im just gonna be honest with you when i say that it seems like you dont know what your talking about and or know nothing about the hulk!

this is the one avenger who dosent need food, water, air to survive and if hes in hulk form and hulk is in control; especially if Bruce and hulk are melding...then you have th e ill-est character EVER - you gotta be a marvel head to know this homie.

theres no way he would be dead!

every character can die except for hulk, deadpool, and squirl girl lo

Sounds awesome, but I'm taking this story with two big dumpster trucks full of salt. In other words, it sounds epic but I'll believe it when I see it.

So Thor is in the Hulk role and Hulk is in the Silver Surfer role.

@blackandyellow - If true, what makes it funny is that in the Planet Hulk animated movie, they replaced the Silver Surfer with Beta Ray Bill.

Your comments weren't showing up too? I thought it was just me. Was kinda worried that the new layout change either completely [frick]ed up my account forever, or that Nate decided to take "improving" the site an extra step by disabling my ability to comment. lol

Sounds very bad IMO. He even knows what Ragnarok means? He sounds completely lost. I don't want more funny/humor in a Thor movie, the character deserves intensity, specially in the [frick]ing Ragnarok!

This can’t be true. It better not be. Planet Hulk was one of the best Hulk story lines. It should not be in any way be in a Thor movie. It deserves its own Movie.
It’s called Thor for PHUKKS sake!!
SURTUR better be in it.

@CAPTAINPINKEYE - Marvel is packing it in with Civil War, why stop there. Do it with Thor as well since it's other movie have been bad. Adding Hulk will just bring more appeal. IMO with the rumor humor to be more in this movie, I have no hope this movie will be any better than the last.

Never been a fan of "Planet Hulk." But, if true, it's cool he's in the film.

This sounds incredibly fake. Although the idea of Thor and Hulk fighting in a gladiatorial game is amazing. Maybe we'd FINALLY get a display of THOR'S TRUE STRENGTH.

I'd rather have Surtur or Hela be the cause of Ragnarok. Thor being banished sounds fine. Have him have to journey to find a way to have Asgard be reborn after its destruction. If you want to take an aspect of Planet Hulk and infuse it into Thor 3, have Hulk become a warrior. Have him retain some Banner personailty, some semblance of humanity and intelligence and have Thor make him into a fierce compitent warrior who's draped in that Planet Hulk armor. Taking some visual cues from the storyline is fine by me.

Maybe Hulk is found off world on one of the nine realms being used a a slave brawler. It's evident they may use some Planet Hulk stuff; but not the direct story. Thor could find Hulk being used as a slave on Niflheim or Nidavalir
