Will The God Of Thunder's Roommate Daryl Return In THOR: RAGNAROK?

@thekabsin - Marvel made Darcy and then made her intern, they turned the Mandarin into an SNL sketch. The focused on a cute little boy instead of Tony Stark's issues. I wouldn't put it past Marvel to try and make this canon. Let me make this clear; common sense tells me this will never be canon but clearly Marvel has had beef with common sense with certain decisions in the past.

Just that alone is bad let's not talk of all the jokes and dialogue that just wouldn't be said by either Thor or Banner.

@Valdez - Of course the movie won't be like that, that's not the point. Even if Ragnarok becomes the most badass, emotional and dark Marvel film ever, the idea that what Thor was doing in that comedy sketch actually happened in this universe is embarrassing.

@Valdez - Of course it's not canon but I'm saying with the way Marvel have treated Thor and some other mythical characters; I wouldn't be surprised if they did.

the sketch itself was hilarious and fun but I'm just saying that humour should stay in the parody section of the MCU not canon.

@Chaos200 - Darcy and her Intern are because Thor himself is boring. They needed comedy without delegitamizing what was happening in asguard (so no Asguardian characters could really be comedy relief), and they wanted non-comic fans to have grounded human stakes that could be related to and understood. (Like trying to shoehorn in a romance between Gamora and Starlord in GOTG)

Mandarin was a hilarious and genius way to subvert expectations of a character that is largely outdated and sort of racist. Remember that at the time the complaint from fans, regarding Marvel films, was all on the villains. "They all die", "they're all forgetable", "they all have the same plans". "Mandarin" changed all of that. Travis Slattery was funny, interesting and completely changed the scope of the film and no one saw it coming. He delivered on his infamous promise.

Also doing a "Big Daddy" sort of film with RDJ was a genius move. And he honestly had some great interactions with the kid. I think some of you stay in a jaded nerd bubble lamenting things because of what you, personally, wanted instead of appreciating what we're getting.

I came from a time when there were few super hero movies to look forward to. And the ones that did come out were so ass that they were embarrasing to watch. Now we're getting great stories and characters that serve multi-purpose.

And yes, I'm glad that the world is filling up with other characters and having the comic characters meet random people. It makes them more real. Tony Stark flying away to some farm, rebuilding his suit alone and flying back to fight AIM would have been kind of crappy. Him hiding out with the kid and having adventures in town before getting back to his crazy larger than life world? THAT is more like the Stan Lee comics.
