Roaring to life through WBA and Studio4°C’s use of the Japanese animated artistry of anime, “ThunderCats” characters Lion-O, Mumm-Ra, Panthro, Cheetara and others will spring off the screen with realistic cat-like characteristics inconceivable in previous incarnations.

The new “ThunderCats” will appeal to viewers who have loved the characters all their lives as well as young newcomers to the franchise. A sweeping tale combining swords and science and boasting ferocious battles with the highest of stakes, the grand origin story of Prince Lion-O’s ascension to the throne – and of those who would thwart his destiny at any cost – takes on epic dimensions in this sharp new telling. As the forces of good and evil battle each other in the quest for the fabled Stones of Power, Lion-O and his champions learn valuable lessons of loyalty, honor and mortality in every episode.

“ThunderCats” is executive produced by Sam Register (“Teen Titans,” “Ben 10,” “Batman: The Brave and the Bold”). Michael Jelenic (“Batman: The Brave and the Bold,” “Wonder Woman”) and Ethan Spaulding (“Avatar: The Last Airbender”) are the producers.

I hate their Manga style ( I don't hate Manga, just the style on these characters). But hopefully the animation is fluid and the story lines worth it. I can accept the other guys, but Lion-o seems designed for girls who love the Twilight series...

FYI: Manga literally means comic book in english, in Japan the term "manga" is used for all comic books, however foreign fans use the term "manga" for a Japanese comic book only.

Anime literally means animated show in english or a cartoon as Americans say. In Japan "anime" like manga is used for all animated shows... but is used as a name for a Japanese animated show with foreign fans.

Goddammit you older fans are so stupid, the art looks great, when i hear Anime all i think is excellent quality and more defined character designs. WTF do you people rather it look shitty like the American made cartoon AEMH designs. Thank god they are not looking at you old freaks as a target audience for this show. I know for sure that kids and teens like me will enjoy it.

SolidSnake007
SolidSnake007 - 1/25/2011, 7:00 PM
Did no one watch the series? Lion-O was the youngest member besides the two kids.He had to learn how to be a leader. so this works. Quit hating.
SentinelofLiberty
SentinelofLiberty - 1/25/2011, 7:01 PM
lol@Freshkicks! "You damn old timers and your slow driving in the left lane with your blinker on!" To you sir I say, "Turn down that rock and roll music, young fella!" ;-)

As for Lion-O...I know the way he was drawn back in the day made him appear like an old warrior, but wasn't the driving force of the story that he was almost a young King Arthur type of figure? I always got the impression back then that he was supposed to be a late teen, struggling to fulfill his destiny before he was ready. Wasn't Panthro (and that other one whose name I forget) there almost specifically to protect and guide the 'young prince' while he learned the ropes? As much as I like the old version better, this Lion-O looks like what the character was supposed to be.

My ONLY complaint....where the F is Snarf!?!?!? "Snarfsnarfsnarf!!!!"
