Shooting is currently under way on Transformers: The Last Knight, and as you can see below, the first promo banner has been spotted in New York City's Times Square. I'm far from an expert with this franchise, but if you can identity exactly what Optimus Prime is fighting, feel free to sound off with your theories in the comments section below. They look a little like Dinobots to me, but it's hard to say.

Set to be released on June 23rd next year, the movie will feature the return of Mark Wahlberg as Cade Yeager as well as new roles for Isabela Moner and Jerrod Carmichael. Production on Transformers: The Last Knight is set to begin on June 6th, and will then move to currently unrevealed locations around the world as a new adventure begins. With Bay back in the director’s chair, the screenplay for the movie was written by Iron Man's Art Marcum and Matt Holloway along with Ken Nolan (Black Hawk Down).

Love them or hate them, the Transformers movies have been a resounding success, earning over $3.7 billion at the worldwide box office over the course of four movies. The Last Knight is the first instalment of the franchise released since a writers room was put together to pencil out the future of this series, so it will be interesting to see how it sets up any spinoffs! What do you think of this new image?

Firstarino.

Only thing I can think of is Megatron's dragon form from Robots in Disguise (not the recent one). Even then he only had two heads and not three.

@TheNightmareVirus - Can't they just do Unicron and be done with this series?

Didn't Prime fly away at the end of the last one? Jesus, let's see them fight on another planet. Our bridges can only be sucked up so many times.

@Spider2YBanana - The story for Transformers: The Last Knight will involve Optimus Prime finding his home planet, Cybertron, now a dead planet, which he comes to find he was responsible for killing. He finds a way to bring the planet back to life, but in order to do so he needs to find an artifact. And of course, that artifact is on Earth." LMAO looks like more broken bridges😋

@Kadara - another [frick]ing artifact??!?! All 4 movies revolved around finding a [frick]ing artifact, is it to hard for them to come up with something a little different?

@WorldsFinests - Haha I kno man!! You would think with a whole writers team this time around and plans to create a "Transformers universe", there would be something new as objective but nope!

@Kadara - This has to be michael bays idea: "Just make sure the story revolves around about finding an ancient artifact, oh, and drop in a hot girl too, and explosions, looooooootssss of them". Bay to the writers
