It's been rumored for quite some time, but we finally have confirmation that Tyrese Gibson will in fact reprise his role as Robert Epps in Michael Bay's latest Transformers film - Transformers: The Last Knight. The extent of his role is unknown, but Gibson broke the news himself while discussing his upcoming slate at the BET Awards last night, telling Entertainment Tonight: "Let's just say 2017, summertime, it's going to be a lot of energy out there in the universe: Fast 8, Transformers 5... I'm here to take advantage of my America." He'll join Josh Duhamel as the only other returning player from the original trilogy.

Gibson is currently filming Fast 8, which is the latest installment in the blockbuster Fast & Furious franchise. F. Gary Gray (Straight Outta Compton) is directing an all-star cast that includes Vin Diesel, Charlize Theron, Dwayne Johnson, Michelle Rodriguez, Ludacris, Lucas Black, Kurt Russell, Jason Statham, Elsa Pataky, Nathalie Emmanuel, Scott Eastwood, Kristofer Hivju, and Helen Mirren
