VENOM: Eddie Brock Is Ready To Race Into Action In This New Still From The Movie

The second trailer for Venom was a huge improvement over the first and now a new image from the movie has been released and it features a fresh look at Tom Hardy (The Dark Knight Rises) as Eddie Brock.

There's not an awful lot of excitement surrounding Venom. While the second trailer generated quite a bit more excitement than the first (it actually showed Venom, for starters), the vast majority of comic book fans would be much happier seeing Eddie Brock in a future Spider-Man movie rather than a standalone spinoff which is going to deliver a very different origin story...without the wall-crawler.

The latest issue of Empire Magazine features a new look at Tom Hardy as Eddie Brock and, well, it's not particularly exciting in all honesty! However, we know from the trailer that the anti-hero jumping on this motorbike leads to an action sequence where Venom unleashes the power of the symbiote to take out those pursuing him (presumably mercenaries who are working for the sinister Life Foundation).

What do you think about this new look at Venom? Are you any more excited about the movie or are you uninterested in a Sony produced Marvel movie? Share your thoughts in the comments section.

Film has the potential to be mind-blowing, especially with Hardy in the lead. Unfortunately based on what I’ve seen from the trailers, it looks like that potential has squandered, and it’ll be alrightish. Could be wrong and really hope I am though! I want it to be great. Just looks like it is lacking in style and personality.

I thought Suicide Squad was a terrible movie, but I admired its attempt to inject the proceedings with a unique energy and tone and style. Looks like that’s what Venom is lacking so far. Hardy is so good at playing antiheroes with personality and great humour (Bronson, Peaky Blinders) and I hope they lean into that as they explore the Jekyll/Hyde dichotomy of the character.

Would love to have seen a similar flavour to the movie The Guest for this. 80s-esque action horror.

The more I sit with the trailer the more I'm looking forward to it. I don't think it will be anything special at the moment, but it ought to be fun to say the least.

You can't even tell that's Tom Hardy. It could be some random stunt double.

Seeing that Venom in the trailers is basically my reason for considering seeing this.... nothing else has really grabbed me about this film yet.

Blah. Don't know why they keep putting Hardy into roles that need a guy with a Swharzenegger-type build (first Bane and now this) but they really need to stop. Add to that there doesn't seem to be very much Venom in the movie, even though it's just titled "Venom". Add to that no Spider-Man. Add to that the trailer is dull and boring. Add that they didn't quite get Venom right; he looks wrong - his eyes or something - and the CGI looks poor, like really obvious CGI, almost a claymation look. Add to that Hardy's usually pretty boring too. I just can't get very interested in this movie. I'm sorry, I just can't honestly find anything positive to say about this movie.

I'm definitely looking forward to this one! I'm glad they aren't ruining the suspense with too many spoiler pics.

I'm not so sure the people who "really want to see" this movie are real people.

And then I remember there were a large number of people who loved Man of Steel.. Never mind.
