The Assassin's Creed film has officially begun its phase of viral marketing and it starts off by revealing Jeremy Irons' role for the film through an eerie voicemail message. The Assassin's Creed official Facebook and Twitter sites uploaded a brand new banner image for the film along with a mysterious image of business cards belonging to CEO of Abstergo Industries, Alan Rikkin. When going to the site Abstergo.com, it will take you to a viral site for the film by Ubisoft and 20th Century Fox.

On the business card, there are two phone numbers both of which, if called lead you straight to a voicemail revealing Jeremy Irons as Alan Rikkin, the CEO of Abstergo. For those of you who don't know, Abstergo is a front for the Knights Templar, the antagonists of the Assassin's Creed franchise. In the voicemail, Alan Rikkin divulges some information on his availability saying that he would return March 25.

Hello, you’ve reached the voicemail of Alan Rikkin. I’ll be out of the office on business until March 25 with limited availability.

It is most likely that the first footage of the long-awaited film could be released on March 25, 2016. It could also mean that maybe the film starts up on more viral marketing with Abstergo. As of now, all we can do is wait. What do you think of Assassin's Creed viral marketing? Are you excited to see Jeremy Irons as a templar?

Assassin's Creed hits theaters December 21, 2016.

Callum Lynch discovers he is a descendant of the secret Assassins society through unlocked genetic memories that allow him to relive the adventures of his ancestor, Aguilar, in 15th century Spain. After gaining incredible knowledge and skills he's poised to take on the oppressive Knights Templar in the present day.

that probably means the trailer will be attached to Dawn of Justice. I hope the movie's good because I gave up on the games after Unity.

Interesting, I think John Travolta would actually have been a better fit.

I admit Unity was a mess but you should really give Syndicate a try, it's the best game in the franchise since Ezio's games.
Also I'm so hyped for this game

Hope this is any good. Not convinced, maybe it's the history of bad game to movie adaptations.

Mortal Kombat, Resident Evil, and Silent Hill are the only video game movies I like.

@Jollem: Fallout 3 was one of the few games that really blew my mind. Fell in love with that game the first time I played. And Fallout new The another game being PoP Warrior Within. Haven't played Fallout 4 because my PC sucks...

He's playing Alan Rikkin? Awesome. He's been teased since the first Assassin's Creed and is the closest we've had to a leader for the modern day Templars. Ubisoft must have alot of faith in this movie to gamble using Rikkin in the story. Wonder if the deal they made with Irons include doing work on future games ontop of the movies.

@Thor2273. Too bad, because Rogue and Syndicate are both fantastic.
