Probably to offset the negative fan reaction to , Warner Bros. Pictures have sent out six brand new character posters of their upcoming adventure fantasy film, "Watchmen", to six different sites, Los Angeles Times, Access Hollywood, USA Today, WiReD, Entertainment Weekly and MTV. Presenting six of the main characters, the posters highlight individually on The Comedian, Dr. Manhattan, Ozymandias, Rorschach, Silk Spectre II and Nite Owl II.

Adapted from Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons' comic book series of the same title, "Watchmen" follows superhero-turned-vigilante Rorschach as he investigates the murder of his former colleague and discovers much more than a simple homicide case. As he goes on with his investigation, he uncovers the plot to kill and discredit all other superheroes as well as a far more intricate conspiracy involving his colleagues' past which could completely change the course of history.

Starred by Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Billy Crudup, Matthew Goode, Jackie Earle Haley, Malin Akerman and Patrick Wilson, the movie is directed by Zack Snyder using script written by David Hayter and Alex Tse. This Warner Bros. film has been enlisted for U.S. theatrical release on March 6, 2009.

This first one with Dr. Manhattan was found at EW and is a bit small. Hopefully we'll get some better high res versions soon.

This last one is an "MTV exclusive," and they took the time to put their watermark on it, so give them some love.

i disagree i think oz is meant to look like egyptian royalty. they got that right. I don't think it's black like everybody else says. this picture look like it's a really deep purple. in light, the purple and gold reflect well, in dark areas, his costume looks black and dull silver. I think this is so that we get a darker tone at karnak. this is going to bee the most visually stunning superhero film ever made. Zack is really making a name for himself here. i can't wait.

I can respect the slight alterations to the costumes for film purposes. I definitely think Ozy's suit is a dark shade of purple, but i bet its for dramatic purposes later in the flick, a blacksword stated. same goes with Rorschach's pants, definitely a dark shade of purple.

Also...I always imagined the yellow cloth Specter wore as a little more sheer...

Why the hell does Oz look like a 13 year old? What happened to the guy with the perfect physique in the comics?

it's the mask, Oz doesn't really look that way if you watch the first trailer specifically. the structure of the mask makes him look youthful, thus disguising him more so than any traditional domino mask normally would. in the novel, you can easily recognize the comedian and oz while they're wearing their masks. maybe thats why silk spectre never wore one, she knows its pointless :)

silk spectre's costume in this movie is not the sheer over black lingerie that it was in the comics. the costumes were updated in order to fit into the modern hero aesthetic seen in today's society. silk spectre wears a vinyl leathery plasticy looking almost swimsuit with a corset kinda thing. Nite owl much resembles our good friend the caped crusader, and ozzy, nipples, need i say more. those three were changed the most to accommodate modern views of super heroics, much like how the comic book complemented the views of superheroes in the 80's. don't worry guys, more thought went into this movie than a lot of people believe. the rest pretty much dont change.
