Last night, Chris Pine made an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! to talk about his upcoming film, The Finest Hours. Kimmel, of course, took the opportunity to ask him about his role in the new Wonder Woman movie he is currently filming in London. "I play a guy named Steve Trevor, for all of you that know the lore, is Wonder Woman's better half." He then revealed what prompted him to join Wonder Woman in the DCEU. "I see a lady named Gal Gadot in it and she's fantastic and she's doing a wonderful job. "

During the interview the host also asked pine whether or not Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman would be flying around in her famous invisible plane. To Kimmel's surprise, the actor said he had no idea what he was talking about and was clueless to the idea of the character's rather riduclous plane being in the film. But, as soon as Kimmel brought up Wonder Woman's Lasso of Truth, the actor immediately shut it down saying he "can't talk specifics."

Pine then went into detail on how a female led superhero film like Wonder Woman has a different set of dynamics than that of a regular CBM. "It takes place in World War I. If I'm being honest, I think what's really neat about it is that you know with all the Thors and the Captain Kirks, I feel like with men at the helm its always this revenge cycle kind of thing," said Pine. "An eye for an eye, we're going to go get the bad guys and the bad guy is defeated. What I think its really lovely of having a woman at the helm of something like this is just by virtue of her being a woman there is a great deal of more compassion and love at the center of the story, which for something as big as a film as this is going to be and with the kind of eyes that are watching, I think it's wonderful in the little bit that we could do to hopefully inch this universe towards something not as aggressive and violent as this one."

Wonder Woman hits theaters June 23, 2017.

Wonder Woman stars Gal Gadot, Chris Pine, Robin Wright, Danny Huston, Säid Taghmaoui, David Thewlis, Elena Anaya, Ewen Bremner, and Lucy Davis. The film is directed by Patty Jenkins and written by Jason Fuchs.
