EW has debuted a brand new image from Patty Jenkins' solo Wonder Woman movie, which features our first glimpse of Diana's homeland. Along with a new shot of Gal Gadot as Diana in training, we also get our very first look at some of the supporting Amazonian characters: Queen Hippolyta (Connie Nielsen), General Antiope (Robin Wright) and her lieutenant, Menalippe (Lisa Loven Kongsli).

Find out more about them below.

This trio of immortals is responsible for both raising and training Diana — the only child on this estrogen heavy isle — but they don’t always agree. Hippolyta, a revolutionary leader, longs to shelter her beloved daughter from the outside world, but Antiope, the Amazon responsible for Diana’s training, wants to prepare her. “She is the only child they raised together,” says Jenkins, calling from outside London, where she is deep into the film’s production. “And their love for her manifests in a different way for each of them.”

Wonder Woman is slated to debut on June 23, 2017, and you can hear more from Jenkins and producer Charles Roven at the link below.

Gal Gadot, for her minimal screen time, was awesome in the film. So so awesome.

@MattBellissimo - Good news is Wonder Woman is a prequel film set during WW1

Which means the events of Batman v Superman, during and after, have no effect on this movie being good or bad.

@LEVITIKUZ - Yup. And a different director and writers. Gal's potential as this character is huge. She was a massive bright spot in a very depressing and bleak film.

@MattBellissimo - Different writers, right. We go from an Oscar winner writer (Terrio) to the guy who wrote Pan and Ice Age 4. That's reassuring...

@MattBellissimo - And Geoff Johns said Patty's directing reminds him of Richard Donner which is hopefully good news.

I mean I know Johns worked on JL but given how Johns worked under Donner and loves Superman The Movie, hopefully it's a good sign.

@nikoar - Remember, people were saying the same of the Russos. Life is full of surprises my friend. Terrio's involvement in BVS didn't exactly do it it a ton of favours.

@nikoar - As much as I love him as a director, Pan's issue was Joe Wright directing.

The dude's Pan script was on the Hollywood Blacklist website.

@MattBellissimo - I know, and I'm hoping he proves me wrong. I just can't get my hopes high at this point.

I also got a chance to speak with a WB representative :) That was neat.
