New WONDER WOMAN Set Video Gives A Glimpse Of Daily Life In Themyscira

A new drone video has captured filming on the set of Wonder Woman in Matera, Italy, which is doubling as Themyscira in Gal Gadot's solo DCEU feature. WB is definitely opting for practical effects.

A new video from the set of Warner Bros.' Wonder Woman, currently filming in Matera, Italy, reveals what everyday life is like in Themyscira. In fact, the set looks a lot like Game of Throne's fictional city of Mereen, a comparison that should please DCEU fans.  Apparently, it's nothing out of the ordinary for a grocery list to also contain a broadsword or two.  Regardless, the set looks massive and reveals that very little green screen will be used to create the home island of the Amazons.

Wonder Woman just received a new release date and will now arrive in US theaters on June 02, 2017. Jenkins directs the origin film from a script written by Jason Fuchs.  Gal Gadot stars as the titular hero, with Connie Nielsen portraying her mother, Hippolyta, Queen of the Amazons.  Robin Wright co-stars as General Antiope while Lisa Loven Kongsli plays Lt. Menalippe.  Chris Pine makes his DCEU debut as Steve Trevor and Lucy Davis plays Etta Candy, "Diana Prince's" best friend. Rounding out the cast are Danny Huston,  Saïd Taghmaoui and Elena Anaya. Following her first standalone feature film, Wonder Woman will next bee seen in Justice League Part One (11/17/2017).

Wonder when a trailer will drop. Probably for Suicide Squad or Fantastic Beasts.

So is it safe to assume that Steven Trevor is just going to be one and done? Since this movie is based in WW1. Big waste of Chris Pine when he can play so many different roles in the DCU, Hal Jordan or Barry Allen (before Ezra was cast, great actor just not sold yet)

@Menks123 - Unfortunately, CP is considered B.O. poison. I personally like him as an actor, but apparently most do not.

@Menks123 - I thought that the rumor was that Pine was playing two roles in this... a character in WWI, and another in modern day. I assumed that Steve Trevor was going to be the modern day character and so could continue on.

@Menks123 - My theory is that Scott Eastwood plays Steve Trevor III in Suicide Squad, but that still waste's Chris Pine. Guess he's just one and done like you said. Should've been Hal Jordan then.

@JohnnyTBP - Hopefully their periods don't sync. That could make filming a total hell!

Okay, that was in bad taste. I will let myself out.
