Who Should Direct Wonder Woman?

With the recent news that WB is finally prepping up post-Jutice League related films, who should direct the Wonder Woman movie?

In the last couple weeks we have heard tons of rumors that WB is finally working on the new Superman reboot, Batman 3, and may be moving forward with The Flash. Along with The Green Lantern which is already getting ready to film soon, it looks like the DC film universe is finally coming together.

Christopher Nolan will return to helm Batman 3, which is being written by David S. Goyer and Jonah Nolan. Also, the rumors of Christopher Nolan mentoring the Superman reboot is actually said to be because his little brother Jonah Nolan may be making his directorial debut with the film and David S. Goyer has already been said to write the movie. Basically, the "Batman" team will be behind bringing "Superman" to the screen. Good or bad? Who knows!

Martin Campbell will be directing "The Green Lantern" which will be released in 2011, and Greg Berlanti, who is producing "The Green Lantern", is said to be in line to direct "The Flash". Then after these films all finally make it to the big screen, we may see the "Justice League" directed by Christopher Nolan. Amazing? Hell yeah!

What I like about this news is, it seems to be a true team effort going on here in culminating the DC universe films together. There seems to be at least one person from each film coming in to help out with another film, for instance, "The Dark Knight" team will help bring the "Superman" film to the silver screen and Greg Berlanti will be producing "The Green Lantern" and (supposively) will be directing "The Flash". It seems like a complete 360!

Not to diss Marvel, but all of the post-Avengers films really dont feel like a team effort. I mean, we often hear about Kenneth Branagh meeting with Jon Favreau and then Jon Favreau meeting with Louis Letterier, but we reallly dont know the what the degree of these meetings are. It sounds more like hanging out rather then business. Like I said, im not dissing Marvel. I just like the idea of bringing in someone from one film to another.

Now this brings me to my question: Who should direct Wonder Woman? It was a shock that we got no indication that a Wonder Woman film was even moving forward, which is not good considering Wonder Woman is definantly the third best known Justice League member after Superman and Batman.

Should it be someone that has been involved with one of these films, or should it be someone out of left field? I personally think some pretty good directors to bring Wonder Woman to to big screen could be Chris Columbus and Kathryn Bigelow. I dont know if I can really see WB picking one of them, but I can hope right?

If this proves succesful, it seems "The Justice League" may star the likes of Christian Bale and Ryan Reynolds thus far.

one thing I've noticed about Marvel and Dc is that Dc usually has these big-name directors direct their films, while Marvel mostly picks these lesser known director. Whomever DC picks will probably be a VERY good director, and somebody we can all agree on.

Joss Whedon would be a great choice, but with the fallout of his WW attempt from years ago, he's probably out of the question.

Perhaps Katherine Bigelow (The Hurt Locker)? Not really sure on that one though.

Peter Jackson?

Alfonso Cuaron (Children of Men, Harry Potter 3)?

Oh, and Jamie Alexander for WW :)

I could see Whedon still being the best choice. But I could see him using Dushku for WW. By the way, is Bruce Wayne back from the dead? And is that him getting face time?

Who ever gets the job definitely needs to rethink that costume. Im a guy and even i know when something is going too far LOL :) :P Simply do a traditional Greek/Roman armour with molded chest plate (covering chest :P), battle skirt, arm guards and boots. AND drop the stars; they really are not needed

@Ugh No Bruce is not back, Diana had become a Black Lantern and no one, not even her mother could break her free from its control. Then a Star Sapphire ring or Aphrodite showed Diana a vision of her true love and her love for him destroyed the Black Lantern ring and she became a Star Sapphire.

@Sektos do you even know why she wears that suit, its supposed to be patriotic thats like saying Captain America needs to drop the Stars and Bars for his movie too.

Wayne may be back in the next and final issue of BN, Dmon. The circled him quite a bit in the story without going into much depth. I love Blackest Night! Its been a great run. Dmon, I'm glad to see another dude has been reading WW! LOL Have you seen her fight with Power Girl in #41? Great stuff!

Ridley Scott, JJ Abrams', or Peter Jackson as Tyler suggested are great ideas because they've been tested in "epicness" and passed. We know they have the potential to see something with a scope like WW be made into something that would blow the lid off of anything that Bigelow and Columbus has ever done.

james cameron is a perfect choice, but maybe wonder woman would be more excepted if they teamed her with batman & superman in a trinity movie.don't get me wrong i would love to see a solo wonder woman film,i think she's a strong enough charactor to carry her own film but will warner brothers & dc entertainment.
I'M STILL WAITING FOR THE ANNOUCEMENT OF A POWER GIRL FILM.

Cameron is a one trick pony. I'd hate to see how he'd handle it, deadpoo. His vision for Spidey was horrendous.

Cameron isn't the only guy that can do Strong Women, true he gets cred for Sarah Connor and a lot of cred for Ripley, but don't forget it was Ridley Scott that really gave us Ripley. Joss Whedon is great at it too. I like Cuaron too. Lexi Alexander is on my CBM blacklist after the abortion that was Punisher War Zone along with Joel Schumacher, Mark Steven Johnson, and Tim Story NO MORE CBM's FOR YOU!!!

Doesn't matter, this movie will flop like a soggy pancake. Guys don't want to watch girls beat up guys. WW isn't even as cool as say electra or catwoman who they tried to make movies about and failed. What is so special about her besides her strength? Truth rope? invisible jet? bullet deflecting bracelets? That is straight wankery right there.

Joss Whedon would be my choice. He had some great ideas for a Wonder Woman movie a little while back. Sadly, after what happened with all that, he's probably out of the picture.

@superman7 Yes from Blackest Night Wonder Woman #2.

@andyoung2002 WW is way better then the ones you mentioned and she beats up girls too. WW is the Thor of DC comics. And she is my fav female superhero alot of guys like her.

She's the ambassador from an all woman island that has been isolated from man's world for 3 millinia. She is in constant conflict with the gods Ares and Circe. Her philosophy is that of love, yet was trained from the moment she could walk to be an austere and ruthless warrior in combat. Does any guy want to be bested by a woman? Of course not. Suspencion of disbelief is that the Amazonian women are not ordinary or typical women. Tomb Raider was a successful movie, btw. Elektra and Catwoman both sucked not by virtue of the woman being the lead, but the movies were poorly written, developed, directed and acted.
A very cheap example and a low blow on your part.
