That CAPTAIN BRITAIN TV Show Is Actually A Producer's Pitch To Marvel

The uproar caused by Captain Britain concept art is actually part of a producer's pitch to Marvel in an attempt to get a TV series off the ground. Would you want to see a Captain Britain TV show?

Chris Lark, one of the producer's who commissioned Ciara McAvoy to produce concept art for the Captain Britain TV show has finally explained what exactly is happening with the project.  Apparently, Lark's production company, Cool Mint Productions, is putting together a highlight reel as part of a pitch to Marvel.  Here's what Lark stated, [via Twitter]---

"Ladies & Gentlemen I'm here to confirm that I and my co-prod Eleni Larchanidou are working on a Highlight Reel for a TV series based on the Marvel Comics character #CaptainBritain for 2017. Right now we are in very early stages of development for this idea and working on things like the budget for this Reel to take to Marvel for 2017 with hopes of them helping us with the series. Thank you so much for your interest in #CaptainBritain and expect more news later this year and early in 2017. Thanks so much also to @CiaraMcAvoy1 for her help with this series project too."

Is Marvel aware of Lark and his pitch? Or is this project something he's working on independently and Marvel has no knowledge? Hopefully Lark and his team will at least get a meeting.

I remember about a year ago when the same thing was happening with Namor, and then nothing ever happened.

I'd honestly rather have it as a Netflix show or movie. Captain Britain is a character with a rich backstory that needs to be done justice.

Please, no network television. The only problem I could see with this show happening is that he associates too heavily with mutants, so a lot of his supporting characters would have to be replaced.

@SmellofDuty - I'm not so sure about Fox's exclusivity to ALL mutants. They don't have the rights to the Secret Warriors mutants as AoS is using some of them as Inhumans. Fox might not have the rights to Meggan, a mutant shapeshifter or perhaps the British version of Betsy Braddock, Psylocke. Olivia Munn said that the only Psylocke we'll see at Fox is the Asian version. So the mutant issue might not be a problem for the character.

At this point, I don't think we'll see Excalibur but everything else in the Captain Britain mythos could be fair game. And there is a lot to exploit there.

Anyhow, we've yet to see Jeph Loeb not involved in a Marvel Television project so I think that is the biggest obstacle to this deal. That guy giving custody to another producer. It's close to a year since John Ridley teased about his unknown Marvel project and yet nothing has come out of that yet.
