CBM's Official NON-Review of THE AVENGERS Premiere

THE AVENGERS movie reviews are embargoed until May 2nd, so I must stress vehemently, THIS IS NOT A REVIEW!!! But CBM was indeed at the premiere and Galactus is bursting to innuendo its gloriousness.

Other than a few short tweets, we, the entertainment press that were invited to preview THE AVENGERS, are unable to detail how mind-blowingly awesome it was until later. So, until I can wax eloquent and compare it to the other greatest movies of all time, I can only answer a few questions that our readers have debated over and over on the site...

- For those who were worried about Joss Whedon helming this movie... You have been proven complete and total idiots.

- For those concerned that the large cast of characters would prove too much for one movie... NOT a problem.

- For those who think that underpowered Black Widow and Hawkeye would be underused and have smaller roles... Not so.

- For those worried that all the trailers, clips and commercials have shown all the good parts already... They didn't even scratch the surface.

- For those who don't believe THE AVENGERS will be THE comic book movie of the year... TDKR and Amazing Spider-Man will have to be surprisingly special to take the title.


Stay tuned for my full review where I hint at a MAJOR character tragedy, and how the HUGE reveal about the alien's master sets up the sequel. Also, look for the video interviews we'll be doing tomorrow to be online shortly.

How can it embargoed until May 2nd? It's released here in Australia on April 25th, and Why would they embargo reviews until a week after it's released?

I thought it was a little bias, but it was one of the ones that did convince me to go see it in theaters. All I can say is I am glad I went to the Alamo Draft house. It would have been a miserable movie without scotch.

I agree with Seabz, May 2nd does seem a little late for an embargo, considering the movie opens two days later. Probably to avoid all spoilers, even though the SuperHeroHype boards are blowing up with spoilerish info.

@ComicBookMovie I must ask, when you say it barely scratches surface, do you mean that even the recent TV Spots like Thor and the Headcount Loki/Tony clip are no where near it's excellency?

All the trailers, clips and commercials you've seen so far are not even a 10th of the action and fun. The fight scenes, the clever humor, witty dialog, character development! I cannot say anymore or I'll get in trouble! Batman and Spidey are going to have to be something surprisingly special in order to beat this.

I so hope Banner gives in to Hulk like he did in EMH. That would be great to see him as Hulk the WHOLE time and not just when hes mad. I could see that leading to some funny stuff as well.

I wish I could name and shame all those idiots who moaned about Josh Wheddon not being good enough to helm this because all he knows is women characters. You guys need to watch Firefly, Serenity and then eat a very large humble pie!

I didn't like Firefly or Serenity, but I always thought Joss deserved a chance to direct a big budge comic book movie. I'm glad he got his chance, and it looks like he will get another.

Without saying who can you say if there are Any camos other then the one o heard about after the credits. Do they name the alien race in the film? You should ask now that this is practically out if they can reveal any of the mystery films they have coming out.
