Thoughts on what we've learned about the Captain America movie...

Hello friends and true believers! Well, since its press junket time for Joe Johnston's Wolfman movie we have been getting a ton of juicy, nerdgasmic news about his prep for Captain Ameica...

Within the last 2 days we discovered that; 1)The Invaders will be in it; 2) There will be ties to Thor and Ironman; 3) Red Skull may appear; 4) It's an origin story that ends in modern day and goes into Avengers.

I have full faith in this movie. We had 3 terrible Captain America movies(the 2 in the 70's with Reb Brown and the 90's one). I'm really curious as to how they are gonna integrate all these characters like Namor, Bucky, the original Human Torch and so forth. The mention of his costume origin is actually pretty cool, although we never really learned how he obtains it. Also the idea of him being part of a USO show, might mean that's where we have the Invaders -- they are troupe members who decide to take action.

My biggest concern is Namor, he's the Atlantean king with wings on his feet and is Marvel's first mutant (pre-x-men and retcons). How will he join? Will he appear in the future with Rogers? Will he be in the Avengers? I also want to see how they bring in the original Human Torch (who becomes vision), and will it also be in the Avengers. Also what members of the Invaders will be there? Will it be Cap, Bucky, Union Jack and one other person? Will Nick Fury be in it? How will Thor and Iron Man be integrated (head spinning)?

This movie is full of so many what if's, and one question brings in more. So, for now all we got is little tidbits and when the casting is underway. I predict this debate will cause some minor war amongst members, but we gotta accept the casting choice (DDL FOR RS.lol). They are not gonna screw this up! They want to make this an amazing movie, a great comic book movie, and the best set-up for the spin-off The AVENGERS (trumpet horns).

Till next time, BlackAirs out.

While I'd love Namor, the first human torch, and Union Jack in the movie, I just don't see it happening...

A lot of questions that need to be answered! Can't wait to see how it all plays out.

Only three terrible movies? Don't forget the film serial from the 1940s! Fortunately, this will be the first actual theatrical feature film version of Cap! The first was, as stated, a film serial, the two in the seventies were made-for-TV, and the one in the 90s was direct-to-video.

So here's to a great feature debut for Cap!

My guess is that at one point Cap meets Howard Stark who designs the shield for him.

Favrea himself said that having the shield in Iron Man was simple a little easer egg for the fans. it didn't have any special meaning so he doesn't necessarily have to have it made special by Stark. it can be like in the comics. a 1 time fluke just like him. i always liked that, both him and his shield are one of a kind

I think the Human Target should have a good shot. I mean blonde hair, blue eyes, not too young, not too old, can fight, why not him. I do also like Captain Awesome from chuck and Jensen Ackles so any of these 3 choices I would be happy with.

The whole idea of the Invaders in this flick is brilliant ! , For a number of reason's
1st you get a jump on the first superhero team.
2nd the interaction with a group will be huge.
3rd Bucky need's to be in this movie....I know the sidekick thing is old , but dammit Give Bucky his due , he was part of the cap's history and tough sidekick at that.
This is Marvel's greatest Hero , Make this Movie over the Top !!

I don't think there should be any mutants. What's so special about a "super" soldier compared to the Human Torch? Forget the Invaders. Go with the Howling Commandos and make them like Inglorious Basterds: just a group of hardcore guys who are pissed off and want to kill Nazis.

I am not a huge "fan" of Captain America in the sense that I have read dozens of comics (or even finished reading one full story line), but I have been a fan of the fact that Captain America could actually happen.

im wondering why there arent more incredible hulk call outs. why not? i thought it was a good movie and esily tied into the avengers and captain america. and later iron man (hulkbuster would be sweeeeet). the hulk movie was all about a failed super soldier expirement, and the avengers should be about loki controlling the hulks mind and continue the story from TIH about the goverment trying to use him as a weapon also. they'll probably do that only with starks arch reactor instead of banners DNA. but who knows. they could do both.

i just want loki manipulating the government(use general ross, i would) into creating either an army of hulks or an army of iron men. but it looks like that's the plot of IM2 ;P

I'm sure it's all BS, i'm just soo nervous about this haha. This is a huge role and you really need a specific type of actor to play him. Any one can play Tony Stark.

McPartlin can definitely grow into CAP. He's got the look and is not too well known at all, except those who watch Chuck. And he'll be free for The First Avenger and The Avengers, I don't think he's got anything other than chuck coming down the pipeline.

@LEEE: I swear one of these days you need to knock it off. You're making me dizzy with all these exclamative(new word for ya) fan-castings in every single article, related or not.

With that said it would be kind of suiting for Cap to be played by a guy, whose name is Armie Hammer(Army-Hammer), that would just make a killer script for the promotional posters:

Armie Hammer is the US Army's Human Hammer of War! - Captain America

The Invaders thing is cool. I hope it gets done right.

The USO, though? LAME. STUPID. FAIL! Just follow the damn books as written! This is starting to really worry me.

Comicb@ and you all@
“Captain America is up onstagedoing songs and dances with chorus girls,” Johnston told the Hero Complex blog. “After he’s made into this supersoldier, they decide they can’t send him into combat and risk him getting killed so they say, ‘You’re going to be in this USO show,’ and they give him a flag suit. He can’t wait to get out of it.”

@MisterFixit: What 'on stage doing songs and dances with chorus girls'? What the F-WORD?

Does that mean he is a talented crooner in stead of an artist before he joins the super soldier program? I hope not!
