Clark Gregg Wants Agent Coulson To Appear In DAREDEVIL & IRON FIST Netflix Series'
In a recent interview, Clark Gregg talked about possibly further connecting the Daredevil and Iron Fist Netflix Series' to the MCU by having Agent Coulson make an appearance, and also talks more about T.A.H.I.T.I. and how his character connects with the other agents.
Perhaps one of the biggest and most recurring characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is Clark Gregg's Agent Coulson. With Marvel's Daredevil Netflix series starting to film soon with their new Daredevil Charlie Cox, and it has been confirmed that the series will be apart of the MCU. It has made people wonder exactly how they will connect the series with the movie, and I definite possibility is to include S.H.I.E.L.D., or specifically Agent Coulson. “I’d be really disappointed if I don’t get to show up in New York for Daredevil,” Clark Gregg says, “or Iron Fist was a huge favorite of mind in comic books as a kid. I’ve had more than my share so I shouldn’t be greedy but it would be a huge geekout moment for me if I got to meet Daniel Rand.” Also regarding his character, he was asked if he thought Coulson is as protective of his team as he was with the Avengers, who he risked his life to save by facing off against Loki. “I think perhaps in a deeper way. I think he’s experienced a kind of vulnerability himself that makes people more protective of those who have vulnerability. As a guy who sacrificed the idea of a family to do this job, to protect other people, I think the relationship that he has with Skye and sometimes Simmons and Fitz is as much a family kind of relationship as he has or perhaps will ever have.” Coulson didn't walk away from that encounter with Loki successfully. One of the main plot-points in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. was the whole 'T.A.H.I.T.I.' thing which Coulson finally learned more and more about through the show's first season, and looks to be featured more in the second season as well. On if he thought they handled that pretty well, he said, “I don’t think it’s fully played out, but what it turned out to be and all the different layers, I was really excited about that. This mysterious blue gentleman who seems to have brought me back to life, I love the whole idea that the biggest mystery for Coulson in Season One is to find out who’s been lying to him and why about how he was really brought back to life, and that the version he was told is completely untrue. The crisis of faith he has with S.H.I.E.L.D. and Director Fury who only in the very last episode of this season do we find out why he’s been deceived in a way that restores a lot of his faith in what he’s been doing.” The second season of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is a while away, so for now... I don't know re-watch the first season or something. Would you like to see Clark Gregg pop up on Daredevil or Iron Fist, or any of the other Marvel Netflix shows? Sound off below.
