DAREDEVIL's Charlie Cox Reveals He Tested For Young Han Solo Role

Following Henry Rollins admission that he auditioned for the role of Negan on The Walking Dead, we have another actor who has openly admitted to losing out on a role.  This time, it's Daredevil star Charlie Cox, who reveals that he auditioned for the role of young Han Solo, who's rumored to be making an appearance in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story before receiving his own standalone, prequel film.

Ultimately, the role went to Alden Ehrenreich and it appears Charlie's dedication to playing Matt Murdock is what cost him a serious chance at landing the role.  Said Cox, "I had gone to an audition — one of those things that are super secretive and they don’t tell you, but I’m pretty sure it was for the Han Solo reboot— and halfway through it, the casting director stopped me and said, ‘Why aren’t you looking at me?’ I realized I had gotten into a habit of not making eye contact, because the only thing I had done for two years is play someone who is blind. I never got invited back, probably because they couldn’t figure out why I was acting like a complete idiot."

Lol. He is great as Daredevil!!!

Hope he will be bussy with Infinity War and/or more seasons of Daredevil. It's better that he will not be wasting time as Solo.

@SimplyAz - That's either going to be a disaster or a cult classic or both.

I can't imagine American Gods being done well and also being popular.

@Spock0Clock - I agree. I've read the book and it seems hard to translate.

BUT.....

Preacher has gotten off to a great start and I never thought that could work on TV. American God's and Preacher seem better suited for film, but the stories of each may work better serialized

@Shanksman -

I have read the book and recommend it, really detailed and interesting.

From Wiki:

The central premise of the novel is that gods and mythological creatures exist because people believe in them (a form of thoughtform). Immigrants to the United States brought with them spirits and gods. The power of these mythological beings has diminished as people's beliefs wane. New gods have arisen, reflecting America's obsessions with media, celebrity, technology, and drugs, among other things.

Shadow is a convict who is released from prison early when his wife, Laura Moon, and best friend Robbie Burton die in a car accident, leaving him alone in the world. Bereft, he takes a job as a bodyguard for a mysterious conman called Mr. Wednesday, who seems to know more about Shadow's life than he lets on.
