Heading into season 5, Team Arrow is down a Speedy (Willa Holland), Spartan (David Ramsey) and a Black Canary (Katie Cassidy). Rookies are filling in but it looks like Green Arrow needs a veteran.

Last season saw Colton Haynes' Roy Harper aka Arsenal reduced to a recurring role, with the character not appearing until the 12th episode.  However, it looks as if Green Arrow's comic book sidekick will be returning fairly early on in season 5. Though fans shouldn't get their hopes up for a full-time return for Haynes.  He's recently booked a season-long guest spot on Fox's Scream Queens.

News of Colton Haynes' appearance on the Vancouver set of Arrow was leaked during a snapchat session from  Curtis Holt actor Echo Kellum.

Earlier this year, Colton revealed that he was originally slated to remain a series regular on Arrow but sought a reduced role following tabloids outing him as a gay man.  The shock of the reveal left Colton, who naturally has anxiety issues, in a state of poor mental health.  He's since recovered and officially came out in a May issue of Entertainment Weekly.

With the old team gone, I'm hoping these few new vigilantes are just guys on the streets Oliver comes across. The show was better with just Green Arrow fighting with Felicity and Diggle helping out with tech and Arsenal occasionally backing him up. Less is more with this show. Colton played a pretty cool character and seems to be a nice guy off set. Hopefully he is happy and comfortable with his private life being so public.
