With the Avengers movie well on its' much-anticipated arrival in theaters next year, I thought I'd give my thoughts on who would be great choices for each role. Some that have been chosen I agree with, some I think would've been better off as different choices.

________________________________________________________________________________

Chris Evans as
CAPTAIN AMERICA / Steve Rogers

Alot of people were quite skeptical and even in disgust that Chris Evans (who most comic fans know for his portrayal as Johnny Storm aka The Human Torch in the Fantastic Four movies) was chosen to play the 'Sentinel of Liberty', and that's mainly because of him being typecast as 'arrogant and somewhat comedic' roles in previous films. Even I at one point was surprised at this decision (although not against it). But as time went by and more and more of Evans' take on the character was shown, it's has really made fans warm up alot to the idea. I think this role will really break Evans out that typecast and give him more credibility as an actor.

________________________________________________________________________________

Robert Downey Jr as
IRON MAN / Anthony "Tony" Stark

I'm sure everyone can agree that Robert Downey Jr's performance as Iron Man was truly excellent. He really brought Tony Stark to life in both Iron Man films. I hope he continues this role for as long as he can.

________________________________________________________________________________

Chris Hemsworth as
THOR

Most people have always pictured a wrestler for the role of Thor due to his towering physique. That simply isn't enough. You need acting chops as well as the muscles to give the 'god of thunder' life on the big screen. Chris Hemsworth has been shown to be pretty impressive with what we've seen so far in the Thor movie previews. I'm very excited for this flick BTW.

________________________________________________________________________________

Patrick Wilson as
GIANT MAN / Hank Pym

He seems to be a fan favorite when it comes to this role. I can agree with that. Wilson is a pretty cool actor and I think he can fit the Giant Man role well.

________________________________________________________________________________

Kelly Carlson as
WASP / Janet Dyne

This would be a pretty good choice for Wasp. I really like Kelly Carlson on Nip Tuck, I think she can do Janet justice from what I've seen of her so far.

________________________________________________________________________________

Christian Bale as
THE HULK / Bruce Banner

We were all surprised at the departure of Edward Norton reprising his role as Bruce Banner for the Avengers. And for some reason, I just cant see Mark Ruffalo as a replacement. He just doesn't say "I'm Bruce Banner" to me. I always pictured Christian Bale as a more than worthy and better choice for the role.

________________________________________________________________________________

Cam Gigandet as
HAWKEYE / Clint Barton

Although I think Jeremy Renner is a cool actor, I don't see him as Hawkeye. I think a better fit for the role is Cam Gigandet, as he can play the rebellious and cocky type, which fits Hawkeye perfectly.

________________________________________________________________________________

Kate Beckinsale as
BLACK WIDOW / Natasha Romanoff

Kate Beckinsale has shown that she can look sexy and badass in leather tights while kicking ass in the Underworld films. Her being cast as Black Widow shouldn't be much of a stretch at all. A much better choice than Scarlet Johannson IMO.

________________________________________________________________________________

Ian Somerhalder as
NAMOR THE SUB-MARINER

Ian Somerhalder's role in the Vampire Diaries is really Namor with long teeth. You got to admit that. Somerhlader would own as Namor. Point Blank! With that being said, Namor would play an interesting part in the Avengers, being as he was the one that's kind of responsible for finding Captain America frozen in ice.

________________________________________________________________________________

Jon Hamm as
NICK FURY

Alright look......Samuel L. Jackson is an excellent actor and it was pretty cool for the guys at Marvel to model the Ultimates version of the character after him....but in all honesty, I think it would be more effective and much cooler to have the Fury role stay as closely influenced from the mainstream Marvel Universe as possible. In that thought, Jon Hamm would certainly own in this part.

________________________________________________________________________________

Cobie Smulders as
MARIA HILL

I can't complain too much about this one. She a great actress.

________________________________________________________________________________

Neal McDonough as
DUM DUM DUGAN

Never in a million years would I think Neal McDonough of all actor would i see him play Dum Dum Dugan in a Marvel movie. This is gonna be a very interesting take on the character in Captain America: The First Avenger, and his appearance in the Avengers would be extra cool as well.

________________________________________________________________________________

Joseph Gett as
SUPER SKRULL

Havent really seen any movies that Gett has been in, but he has been a fan favorite for Super Skrull for a good couple of years. He definitely looks the part though.

________________________________________________________________________________

Tom Hiddleston as
LOKI

With Loki being the first primary villain of the first iteration of the Avengers his role is pivotal. With Tom Hiddleston taking on Thor this year, I cant wait for him to be a thorn in the Avengers side. Surely an epic one!

________________________________________________________________________________

Michael Clarke Duncan as
THANOS

With teaser pics and news of Cosmic Cube in Captain America: First Avenger and the Infinity Gauntlet in Thor, there's only one character that's immediate recognizable with both of these powerful artifacts...THANOS. It would be awesome to see him in an post-credits scene at the end of the Avengers leading up to his inclusion in a sequel. And who would be better than Michael Clarke Duncan to bring the "Mad Titan" to life with his imposing figure and deep voice that would fit right on?

________________________________________________________________________________

Charlize Theron as
MS.MARVEL

Charlize Theron played a character with similar characteristics in Hancock. Im sure she could handle the mantle of Ms. Danvers.

________________________________________________________________________________

Michael Jai White as
BLACK PANTHER

Both a fan favorite and a fan unfavorable choice, but I think Michael Jai White can pull off this role as Black Panther. He has pretty good acting chops, a and a martial arts background that can fit well with TChalla's fight scenes. Just give him a voice coach to help him with an African accent and you've got the King of Wakanda.

________________________________________________________________________________

Joe Manganiello as
HERCULES

Joe Manganiello proves that he can play badass roles, most notably as a werewolf on True Blood. Plus Joe has the size (although he should get a bit more bulky) and acting chops to bring the Lion of Olympus to life.

Intersting cast, I like PAtrick Wilson as Giant-Man, he'd be amazing. However I don't really understand why you replaced Ruffallo, Ruffallo is a really skilled actor and I think he's going to do an amazing job as Bruce Banner. But to each his own I suppose. good job though.
