Marvel producer Kevin Feige is quite a busy man these days. After producing Thor and Captain America: TFA, he is now off to his next big project The Avengers. In the latest issue of the Empire magazine, Feige shares his opinion about director Joss Whedon sailing the big boat, and teases with a small hint at the threat The Avengers will have to face. Check it out below!

On Joss Whedon handling a big cast and a possible mislead humour:

He handles it very well. While I don't think anyone's going to mistake it for a comedy, I do think that the humour that's inherent in most of our movies, and which is inherent on in Joss' work, has found it's way into this"

On another Villain besides Loki:

"I've never been shy of saying that there needs to be a big threat, and it is a very, very big event that requires all of The Avengers. It's big. IT IS BIG"

What kind of Villain/s would you guys like to see? Vote below!

The Avengers are scheduled to hit cinemas may 4th, 2012 and will feature an all-star cast including Robert Downey Jr, Christ Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddlestion, Scarlett Johansson, Samuel L. Jackson, Jeremy Renner, Mark Ruffalo, Clarg Gregg, and Cobie Smulders.

Too bad you got to take Dr. Doom out of the poll they are still owned by Fox.

I still want Loki to summon Fin Fang Foom so we can have an Avengers vs. Godzilla style battle. Plus, the Avengers already have Loki (Thor) and the Cosmic Cube (Cap), there needs to be something from Iron Man's stories in there. (And since Foom would never be "on set", it would explain why no word of an actor or anyone in costume has been seen or leaked.) Not too likely, but still...

Ultron would be awesome, but I suspect that's a sequel.

Big aye? It takes all of them together to stop it, aye? Mmmm, interesting

Man I'm really surprised how much they're making this more secret than TDKR! And the suspense for this is KILLING ME!! I have a feeling its Fin Fang Foom!

to early for Ultron.

"Big" means Thanos!!

HelaGood
HelaGood - 8/10/2011, 2:33 PM
or maybe Galactus?????????????????????
HelaGood
HelaGood - 8/10/2011, 2:34 PM
who owns the film rights to Galactus???????????

hammertime

im gonna go with two options.
A). fin fang foom which would be rather a big curveball and can very easily be cheap and hokey but if joss combined The serpent and foom it could make logical sense for loki summoning it.
B)skrull invasion? kree invasion? both? either way it seems like a decent choice for the first assembly. Although it might be too generic for a summer flick-"an alien invasion casues the whole world into choas and only a team of heroes can stop it!" sounds right out of a comic boo- oh wait.

I don't think it can be Galactus. But now that you mention it, we haven't heard anything about an FF reboot for many months, could Marvel have gotten the rights back?

On the other hand, I don't think Loki and Galactus would be working together, and I think you need the FF (Reed mainly) to start up something with Galactus

PaulRom - 8/10/2011, 2:36 PM
@HelaGood Fox still owns Galactus, last I heard. -.-
I'll go for Skrulls and/or Thanos, save Ultron for a sequel.

"IT IS BIG."

It's almost as though he is setting TEA up to get reported by RUNDTC?

HAHA.

Also in Thor #379, Foom impersonates the Midgard Serpent

I'd love to see Thanos, but only if he's done right... and to be done right, they at least need Adam Warlock, and hopefully Gamora, Moondragon, and Drax.

So I think Thanos should be in a sequel, but not this one.
HelaGood

@hammertime Fin Fang Foom was hinted at in Iron Man 2...

this image in particular was done for Iron Man 2 and used as a billboard in one of the scenes where Iron Man flies past it.

HelaGood
HelaGood - 8/10/2011, 2:41 PM
yeah i thought Fox still owned Galactus... and he would be out of place... but the mention of the word BIG thats who i thought of immediately...

1st thanos (could be the best villain ever put into a cbm.)

2nd skrulls (skrulls would be cool like secret invasion or kree & skrull war.)

3rd ultron (for the sequel introduce vision as well)

4th loki (very dissapointing if its just loki, loki & the enchantress take control of the hulk.)

"big event"? WTH does that mean? Despite the fact that I'm looking forward to this movie, it sounds like another FF2 Galacticus to me. Whatever this "event" is, it better be huge. Because the chances of another Avengers film after this one is slim. After this movie the focus will shift back to the individual characters again.

It suddenly became clear.. Loki gives or gives Thanos access to the infinity gaunlet!! For some reason it was the ONLY other of Odin's treasure shown at COMIC CON 10' Possibly because it was already penciled in the script??
Macksimus
Macksimus - 8/10/2011, 2:53 PM
Ultron? No, you need the Pyms, first.

Fin Fang Foom? No, you need the Mandarin.

Galactus? No, he is Fox's property and more of a FF villain.

Thanos? Maybe.

Skrulls/Kree? Maybe.

AIM? Maybe

Personally, I think it will be the Skrulls.
HelaGood
HelaGood - 8/10/2011, 2:57 PM
how cool would that be to see Thanos on the big screen though?!?!?! im sure he will look AMAZING!!! unlike Fox's lame Galactus cloud...

Massive Skrull invasion....Loki is obviously involved....The Avengers get their asses kicked....Banner wants no part of the team initially, but the Hulk HAS to show up to save the day in the end...

Enough with Thanos goddammit he won't be in the 1st Avengers movie. And if Fing Fang Foom was gonna be in anything he'd be in an Iron Man movie. Its probably gonna be a Skrulls. It still doesn't make sense that Odin would even have the Infinity Gauntlet WITH all the gems!! Waaaaay too much power for one being to have in their possesion, let alone a damn trophy room. Odins badass but even he has his limits
