Will we see Thor with or without his helmet in the upcoming The Avengers film? According to Brian Ono (President of eFx Collectibles), the company that produces movies replicas out of prop molds including replicas for The Avengers, has produced every Avengers prop from the actual Avengers prop supplies... except the Thor Helmet which is being replicated from the "Thor Movie" molds. According to Ono, the reason for that is the fact that Thor in The Avengers will not be seen with this particular helmet.

Skip to 1:11 to hear what he has to say:

Even though it should in a way be taken with a grain of salt, this news is still bummer (if true), for all of us that did want to see the Norse God of thunder with a helmet.

The Avengers is scheduled to hit cinemas may 4th, 2012 and will feature an all-star cast including Robert Downey Jr, Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddlestion, Scarlett Johansson, Samuel L. Jackson, Jeremy Renner, Mark Ruffalo, Clarg Gregg, and Cobie Smulders.

Seriously I'm not 1 of those guys who gets excited about the helmet, but why even give him 1 if he never uses it? Especially in big battle scenes where he would need it...

This movie is gonna be such a let down... I just know it!

Thor's helmet actually looks good compared 2 Cap's, well in 'The Avengers' at least
HelaGood
HelaGood - 3/22/2012, 3:26 PM
he hasnt been wearing it in any of the shots anyway.

i think it has become more of a ceremonial thing.

i love the scene from Thor that was cut where Loki and Thor are backstage calling each other names based on their helmets.

Loki: Oohh, nice feathers.
Thor: You don't really want to start this again, do you, cow?

As Hela just said I think they have made it a more ceremonial thing which is okay I guess either way the costume was great in Thor and at least Loki is wearing his alot because thats kinda essential to the character.

Do the producers not like the look? I thought, even through a brief glimpse, that the design and "look" of the helmet was fairly decent in Thor. Of course you can't take away Iron Man's helmet and Captain America's either (however i think Cap looks kinda funny in recently released stills), why not Thor's? Not a huge deal i guess, Chris Hemsworth still looks like Thor obviously...just puzzlement over the missing helmet :s

The thing is despite movie magic, his helmet isn't practical at all to be wearing/using. It doesn't bug me either way, this movie is going to be amazing.

Yeah, I understand that it's a ceremonial thing and all, but I really wanted him to wear it through the whole movie. I'm pretty sure he would've looked very cool with it on.

The helmet/cowl/mask is the important part of the hero's or villian's costume. But, that's alright. Hemsworth still looked freaking awesome in "Thor." And just like @Bastard said, Thor doesn't wear his helmet in some comics, and that's okay. He's still bad***. :)

Stay EPIC, my friends!

HA! And this comes from a guy who is supporting a movie where the villain barely resembles his comicbook counterpart.

Funny how he mentions how they don't want people to touch the props just as the guy picks up Mjolnir.

If I am honest I am glad he doesn't wear it. I know Thor is basically meant to look like a viking and hence why he has a helmet like he does, but some things don't transfer well to screen of have aged well and in my opinion his feathers winged helmet is one of those things.
SageMode

REALGOTHAMITE

Maybe because theyre probably influenced by the Ultimate Universe version of Thor, who doesn't wear a helmet and is regularly seen with a beard. Ever thought about that?
SageMode
SageMode - 3/22/2012, 3:58 PM
As I've said before, if the wings on his helmet were smaller, Thor's helmet can work on the big screen.
TheMadman

*THIS* Helmet. He didn't say "Thor doesn't wear a helmet in the Avengers." He said "Thor doesn't wear this helmet in the Avengers." So there's still a possibility. Things like this are carefully worded on purpose lol

i want him to wear his helmet and i wanted hawkeye with a freaking mask,.. is like no character in this movie has a secret identity,BUT YET THERE IN A SECRET TEAM TO FIGHT SECRET BATTLES,.. EVERY CHARACTER IN THIS MOVIE IS SHOWING THERE FACE EVEN IN THE POSTERS NON OF THEM HAVE MASK

as was said before... this movie is more Ultimates influenced so no helmet is fine with me. plus its much more dramatic to see the long blond flowing locks than a shiny helmet.
