Samuel L. Jackson Describes What A S.H.I.E.L.D. Movie Could Look Like

Sam Jackson says a S.H.I.E.L.D. movie minus Thor, Cap, Hulk and Iron Man could potentially be similar to Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy or James Bond.

"Really?" he questioned. "Just handling it?", said Jackson in response to the notion that a S.H.I.E.L.D. movie would only be about his character, Nick Fury.

"Natasha is part of S.H.I.E.L.D., Hawkeye is part of S.H.I.E.L.D., and I couldn't do a S.H.I.E.L.D. movie without those two people. They're essential elements of what's there," Jackson stated. "Now we know Agent [Maria] Hill is an essential element of S.H.I.E.L.D. so she would have to be there. And I'm still not sure if she's the eyes and ears of the council hanging around inside their place and telling people, 'We've got these superheroes over here!' She wants my job," he said jokingly. "I can tell. She's ambitious."

"I don't know how much of S.H.I.E.L.D. [Marvel] want[s] to expose...I mean, we're not superheroes. We're more of a shadow world. So, it would be more like 'Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy' with good toys—closer to a 'Bond' movie than a superhero movie."

The Avengers is an upcoming American superhero film produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Pictures, based on the Marvel Comics superhero team of the same name. It is the sixth installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The film is written and directed by Joss Whedon and features an ensemble cast, which includes Robert Downey, Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner and Samuel L. Jackson. In The Avengers, Nick Fury, director of the peacekeeping organization S.H.I.E.L.D., recruits Iron Man, Hulk, Thor, and Captain America to save the world from destruction.

Development of The Avengers began when Marvel Studios received a grant from Merrill Lynch in April 2005. After the success of the film Iron Man in May 2008, Marvel announced that The Avengers would be released in July 2011. With the signing of Scarlett Johansson in March 2009, the film was pushed back for a 2012 release. Whedon was brought on board in April 2010 and rewrote the screenplay that was originally written by Zak Penn. Production began in April 2011 in Albuquerque, New Mexico, before moving to Cleveland, Ohio in August 2011 and New York City in September 2011. The film was converted to 3D in post-production.

The Avengers is scheduled for release on May 4, 2012 in the United States in 2D and 3D.

The SHIELD movie should be a spy film, a superhuman spy hard

Fury to Loki"The path of the righteous hero is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of villains.Blessed is he who in the name of charity and good will shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness for hes truly his brothers keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who would attempt to poison and destroy My brothers. And you will know My name is the Lord when I lay My vengeance upon thee"

It would be cool IMO. IDK thought I'd rather some other characters get the green light like: Antman, Black Panther, Black Widow, Hawkeye, Inhumans, Guardians of the Galaxy, Namor, Doctor Strange, Incredible Hulk 2, Iron Fist, and being a cross over movie much like the Avengers (The Defenders) consisting of Doctor Strange, Hulk, and Iron Fist etc.

That's what I'd like to have happen before they even considered a Shield movie.

They could deal with meta human menaces over the world, with some other villains or organizations, like AIM.

Agreed with the previous comments, should be something like Mission Impossible, very Spy-ish.

I Dislike Nick Fury as a character... I think he just sucks which pisses me off because I like Samuel Jackson as an actor...

I hate HATE Scarlett Johansson as an Actress.. I think she is one of the worst actresses out there...of all time...

I hope they don;t make a shield movie...

I think a hawk eye movie or a black widow movie would serve as a great Sheild movie, but while characters like Sam Jackson's nick fury and Colbie smulders Maria hill are great, I don't think either of them are strong enough to hold a movie on there own

While I agree it would be AWESOME to have a SHIELD film, I am pretty sure that isn't the plan. I think that is more the purpose the Cap sequels will fill with Steve being in modern times now.

I would be cool with a S.H.I.E.L.D movie if certain characters are included.

Black Bolt would be the new General Audience Favorite movie character if Inhumans is done right.....

I get pumped just thinking of him whooping ass!

I'd watch a SHIELD movie if it had superheroes in it :) We have enough high tech, spy movies. Put some super heroes and/or villains in it or don't make it. Just like no one wants to read a pure SHIELD comic with no super threats. Sorry but that's my take. If they're going to make one it should aid in the continuity of the MU. And it's hard to do that with nothing super at all.

If done right I think a SHIELD movie could be cool, that said I would rather have either a Deadpool or Dr. Strange flick.

About the only way I could see a SHIELD movie work and be interesting would be to have them face off against Abomination, or some super powered threat we have seen in one of the movies already released, or related to it. Seeing how normal humans with their not-so normal gadgets would handle a situation normally reserved for a super hero would be cool. More like a Godzilla movie (SHIELD, and Dum Dum Dugan, was actually a main part of the original Marvel Godzilla comicbooks)than a spy movie is the way for them to go, IMO.

S.H.I.E.L.D. movie - We would get LMD's, flying cars, telepaths, introduction of new characters like Mockingbird or even Hellcat or Diamondback and other lesser comic characters who weren't previously associated with them but we would otherwise never see. Depending on what they do in Cap 2 they could take on H.Y.D.R.A. or A.I.M. or the Serpent Squad/Society and bring in MODOK, Viper, Baron Struker, The Fixer, Mentallo. It would be a great vehicle to advance the Marvel Universe without needing to use the big name heroes all the time.

Hell yes !! a shield movie !! I would do it a bit like Man in black , with less humors.

starring FIRST OF ALL Coulson, Nick furry , marial hill

I don't see why Marvel can't have their own spy franchise. They can include supervillains, too. It's not like most spy movie villains don't already have supervillain like plans.

Forget Shield for a second and focus on Nick Fury´s war years.

Young Sergeant Nick VS. Baron Wolfgang Von Strucker and Nazis... or Hydra.

It could be based on the events after CA: The First Avenger.

I think they should stick to keeping SHIELD with Cap or Avengers. Not that i don't think it would be good because this sounds great, but i wouldn't want it to take up the slot of an actual avenger film like Black Panther or Ant Man
