Marvel Studios Has Finished A Secret Project That Will Be Revealed In The Coming Months!

Kevin Feige, Marvel Studios' President of Production says Co-President Louis D'Esposito has directed "a little something that we're going to reveal in the coming months."

Speaking to SHH Feige, who is rapidly becoming my favorite Hollywood Exec, revealed that Marvel will have a secret something revealed in a few months that apparently already been filmed. My best guess is that it's more shorts but you never know with Marvel [and that's why we like them]. Said Feige---

In response to being asked about sharing responsibilities with fellow producer Jeremy Latcham.

FEIGE: The truth is that's always the way we've done it. Jeremy Latcham is an incredible executive and producer. He just completed "The Avengers" and he's going onto his next project. Each movie that we work on has a key executive producer along with it. If you don't know these names, you should. Co-president Louis D'Esposito who's executive producer on all the movies and who even directed a little something that we're going to reveal in the coming months. We couldn't do these movies without him. Victoria Alonso, who was also executive producer on "Avengers" and co-producer on our other films and leads the charge in everything from post-production and visual FX. You may have heard of the name Craig Kyle who oversees the "Thor" movies for me and Stephen Broussard who did "Captain America" and now has just moved to North Carolina for "Iron Man 3." We have an amazing team and a brain trust in place that allows us to make those two movies a year.

Another update on Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver and the deal with FOX.
FEIGE: We both have them. There's a specific arrangement with those two characters that would allow us to use them with "Avengers," but not discuss or reference their mutant or Magneto-related lineage. They can use them as mutants and as Magneto's relatives, but cannot have anything to do with "The Avengers."

Feige would also go on to confirm that Marvel will definitely be at Comic-Con this year but may or may not have anything available from Iron Man III.

In a separate interview with NBC's Popcorn Biz, Feige talks a little more about Spider-Man, the X-Men and the FF4 being at other studios---

QUESTION: Can you envision a day where you did studio co-productions so that, say, Spider-Man and Captain America could be in a film together or, going nerdier, X-Men’s Beast could join The Avengers?

FEIGE: Well, look, there's certainly no plans for it or have been any discussions about anything like that, but seven years ago nobody would believed that 'Avengers' would've been possible. So, I've stopped saying ‘never’ to any of those questions, but I don't know when that would be.

Feige on venturing into the magical side of the Marvel Universe.

FEIGE:....The magic side, again, it's going to be 'Doctor Strange.' Someday we will introduce that side of it, and when we go over that it's going to be through the eyes of Stephen Strange. When that happens, we don't know.

There's quite a bit more over at NBC's Popcorn Biz so be sure to click the link and read the entire article. Lots of tantalizing news here from Mr. Feige. Seems Dr.Strange may not be as close to receiving the greenlight as many think/hope. And what could Louis D'Esposito have possibly directed already that will be announced in the coming months? Prior to assuming his role with Marvel, he served as Second Unit Director/Asst. Director on a number of films. If it's indeed more Coulson shorts, I think they'll be decidedly different if they take place post-Avengers.

The Avengers is an upcoming American superhero film produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Pictures, based on the Marvel Comics superhero team of the same name. It is the sixth installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The film is written and directed by Joss Whedon and features an ensemble cast, which includes Robert Downey, Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner and Samuel L. Jackson. In The Avengers, Nick Fury, director of the peacekeeping organization S.H.I.E.L.D., recruits Iron Man, Hulk, Thor, and Captain America to save the world from destruction.

Development of The Avengers began when Marvel Studios received a grant from Merrill Lynch in April 2005. After the success of the film Iron Man in May 2008, Marvel announced that The Avengers would be released in July 2011. With the signing of Scarlett Johansson in March 2009, the film was pushed back for a 2012 release. Whedon was brought on board in April 2010 and rewrote the screenplay that was originally written by Zak Penn. Production began in April 2011 in Albuquerque, New Mexico, before moving to Cleveland, Ohio in August 2011 and New York City in September 2011. The film was converted to 3D in post-production.

The Avengers is scheduled for release on May 4, 2012 in the United States in 2D and 3D.

They should regularly have shorts come out, to keep the MCU going between films. Like, cast some actors as SHIELD agents who are well known in the comics and show what SHIELD are doing - it could be used to introduce Hydra in thh modern world and AIM.

The fact that they're acknowledging Dr. Strange as a possible future film gives me great hope to see him on the big screen sometime soon! I feel like with all the Ant Man news coming out lately with the whole script being wrewritten and them getting closer with it, i think thats going to be the next big thing theyll come forward with.

still, i would kill to see Patrick Dempsey as the Sorcerer Supreme!! 2014 here we come!!

I think after seen the Avengers the more super heroes you can put on the screen at one time is better than a stand alone movie , the Avengers was amazing , I'm still recovering after it .

Probably something with the DVD/Blu-Ray release.

I think a short film with AIM cleaning up after the mess in NYC during The Avengers' clash with Loki's army would be appropriate with all the talk of MODOK possibly being looked at for a Captain America sequel. D'Esposito wouldn't of been directing if it's Ant-Man related.

Guardians of the Galaxy CGI short is definite possibility as well.

I'd speculate that it is Ant-Man related. Maybe a short on him developing the Pym particle technology and as a side project SHIELD is inquiring with him about creating Vision from whoever apparently dies off in The Avengers movie. (I so can't wait for midnight!!!)

Could this be a Heroes for Hire project? That would be great and we know that as of mid-last year they were scouting for an actor to play Luke Cage. Maybe they had an action star eager to play Iron Fist that helped move this along. Why else would these two be not only on the Ultimate Spiderman show but Avengers:EMH?

This will probably be on DVD and will show us how how Agent Coulson was not killed in the movie....Remember what Fury told Maria Hill about the trading cards...What a big clue!!! Did anyone else get it?

@ jrrnj

how was that a big clue? he just told her he got the cards out of Coulson's locker and not his pocket. And he only told them that because they needed a little push.

What could that possibly be a clue about? lol

am i missing something?
jrrnj
jrrnj - 5/3/2012, 10:08 AM
@CorndogBurglar...Right they needed a little push...ie..They think that Coulson is dead because he (Fury) said it. That's the push...It is not the trading card that's the push. It's him lying about Coulson being dead.

It needs to be something in the Cosmic-verse to set up Avengers 2.
Illcommunicatione
Illcommunicatione - 5/3/2012, 10:25 AM
@ jrrnj They (the avengers) already knew/thought Coulson was dead at that point, the "little push" was just a guilt trip from Fury as he wanted Cap to sign his trading cards, and he obviously never got around to it (as he was killed) Fury made it seem like he had the cards on him to sign but Hill says he never did.

@Illcommunicatione...You really think that the push was the trading cards??? Really??
Illcommunicatione
Illcommunicatione - 5/3/2012, 10:33 AM
@ jrrnj

No, the fact that they were soaked in blood was the push...

You seem to think that the trading cards were Fury's way of telling them that Coulson was dead, but they clearly already knew this so that is not even an option?

They should have a short before every film. And hopefully no more like "The Consultant" where they try to fill in plot holes or whatever
oneill5299
oneill5299 - 5/3/2012, 11:14 AM
@Illcommunicatione @jrrnj I too believe that Coulson is still alive and the bigger clue to that is at the very beginning of the movie when Stark references Life Model Decoy's. I believe Coulson had planned to sacrifice himself in order for them to have something to Avenge, so he used his LMD.
Illcommunicatione
Illcommunicatione - 5/3/2012, 11:26 AM
maybe but i would have thought that's more likely setting up future Nick Fury bots?

just seems that Coulson is as expendable as they come in the series, as we have built a relationship with him over 5-6 films but he is not necessary.

I just believe it was the motivation they needed to assemble, and avenge Coulson (who is actually dead) as he was the only one championing the Avengers initiative.

@illcomunicatione the LMD's are more of a Nick Fury think, but I think he was such a popular character and is being used in other properties (i.e comics and television) so I would think they would want to keep him around within the Movie universe as well. Also with the reaction it got from the crowd I think they will have to bring him back.
