Filming On The S.H.I.E.L.D. Pilot Wraps

The pilot episode for ABC's new Marvel project, S.H.I.E.L.D. has wrapped according to showrunner Maurissa Tancharoen. Fans have been teased with vague set photos and extremely quick glimpses of the set but so far, the show remains shrouded in mystery.

According to one of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s showrunners, Maurissa Tancharoen, filming on the ABC pilot has wrapped. Unlike those Marvel youtube set-visit videos she's virtually been the lone source of information. Thanks to her, we got our glimpse of the redesigned S.H.I.E.L.D. logo and a hint that some of the alien Chitauri tech from The Avengers could possibly play a factor in the show. The only other intel came from actress Cobie Smulders who said that S.H.I.E.L.D. would be Agent Coulson's show (Clark Gregg) when she was asked about a possible Maria Hill cameo.

Principal photography began on the 23rd of January and filming wrapped last night, making it a grand total of 19 days for the pilot shoot. Of course there's likely VFX work that will need to be completed in post-production as well. Now there's the wait of official word from ABC that the pilot has been picked up for a full-season order.

Pictured above are producers Jeph Loeb, Maurissa Tancharoen, Joss Whedon, Jed Whedon and Jeffrey Bell.

Marvel is becoming a powerhouse in live action movies and television...they have the might of Disney to amp them up. They're all over the scene

This show will be slathered with all kinds awesomesauce! Big stars seem anxious and pleased to make TV cameos these days so I think we'll see some very interesting guest stars throughout the series. Can't wait this should be HUGE!

And if for some reason ABC doesn't pick this show up (highly unlikely) another network WILL. Hell, I'd rather it be on a cable channel if it meant Joss would be left alone to make spectacular television .

No doubt in my mind this will get picked up. Joss Whedon is probably one of the most marketable names right now. And about the SHIELD logo, I have no idea why they changed it. I thought the original movie logo looked good. And why now? Why didn't Joss change it in the Avengers?

Got a bad feeling about this. This is a side project and will likely feel like a side project. I hope to get lots of marvel characters references and interaction, but I don't think they are going that route

Awesome! I can't wait for the pilot!

@bbarber There's a lot of theories flying around. Nothing has been officially confirmed.

I think Coulson will be a realistic hologram.

AWESOME! DC has lightning in a bottle with ARROW and could do so much for their film-verse with it...if they had half the clue that Marvel has. Go MARVEL. I appreciate them bringing comics to evry facet of media. I get my weekly books and soon my weekly Live Action series to build upon my films??? Marketing genius and nerdVANA.

I'm hoping for something along the lines of MISSION:IMPOSSIBLE mixed with ALIAS mixed with X-FILES, with the added bonus of a likeable cast of characters who'd be right at home on FIREFLY or BUFFY.

Please don't do a cheesy super-villain of the week! I'd much prefer the stories center around MacGuffins -- artifacts which may or may not be magical in origin.

@blackandyellow
LMAO I just about spit out the water I was drinking all over my computer.

I wouldnt mind an LMD (either used in Avengers or used in SHIELD). A hologram would be ok and flashbacks-only would be kind of lame. Here's hoping they eventually do introduce other heroes of the MCU.
