Micro-News: Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Is An Action-Packed Thrill Ride + More Tidbits

Someone has laid eyes on the script for the pilot episode of Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and their quick review sounds promising, new footage from Star Wars: The Clone Wars and an update on Ghost in the Shell: Arise.

A new clip from the "sixth season" of Star Wars: The Clone Wars was released. The Cartoon Network show has been cancelled due to Disney's acquisition of the franchise but it's thought that the episodes that were supposed to make up season six will be released on dvd.

TV Guide hasn't seen the pilot episode of ABC's AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. but they have read the script. Here's how they describe the show.

Why we like it: An action-packed thrill ride that resurrects Agent Coulson (Gregg) and introduces Ming-Na as a steely new agent? Count us in!

Ghost in the Shell: Arise, the prequel to the entire GitS series is receiving a theater release in Japan on June 22nd. Four, 50-minute OVA's are being produced with a dvd/blu-ray release set for a month later on July 26th. Thankfully (for American fans), the blu-ray disc will include subtitles in Chinese and English.

Eagerly anticipating the continuation/conclusion of Clone Wars! I'm hoping for it to air on Disney XD but it'll probably go DVD so they can rake in the $$$$

@Grif: I'm on the fence with A.O.S. but I've got to support it. If it succeeds it might push forward possible spinoffs of other Marvel Characters that aren't getting movies!!!

I agree with Anakin's twin. I think Agents of Shield could be very good. If it's done right, it will be a very good way of exposing a lot of people to the MCU. Seeing well trained normal humans and low powered superhuman battle B villians sounds a little lame, but really can make for great stories, if done well. Some of the old Nick Fury comics were really good. This can be too, if they don't underestimate the audience and dumb everything down.

It's more than a little ironic that I would have no fewer than 4 typos in a post cautioning ABC not to underestimate the fans........

I would not call myself a "fan" of The Clone Wars, mostly because the last couple season sucked except for a few episodes here and there. But I do have to say, that clip really piqued my interest. Anyone else think Plo Koon looked pretty bad a** in that turban and poncho? :)

I love the Clone Wars. I hate that is was cancelled, but knew it was inevitable even if Disney did not but Lucasfilms.

If the Shield show resembles Firefly in anyway, then I'm in.

I'm in. ive seen good cop shows, CIA shows, other agent-type show, etc. this is a show like those set in the MCU? I think it will be awesome.

I almost think it will kinda be like the POWERS comic, but instead of cops, it's SHIELD.

(Although POWERS just recently went from cops to federal agents as well)

That makes me think....I wonder how this show will effect the POWERS show. Like if this does well, then some other network may pick up the POWERS series. I heard they made a pilot, but then I heard they may actually redo the whole thing.
