Alex Kurtzman Says It Wasn't An "Easy" Choice To Decide Who Will Wear The VENOM Symbiote
Director Alex Kurtzman offers an update on the current status of Ed Solomon's screenplay for The Amazing Spider-Man spin-off, and then shares his thoughts on what went into making the decision about which character will be wearing the symbiote in Venom. Check it out!
A number of characters (including Peter Parker) have worn the Venom symbiote over the years, though the main three contenders for the lead role in the upcoming movie are undoubtedly Eddie Brock, Mac Gargan and Flash Thompson. As of right now, we have no clue as to who it's going to be and in a recent interview with Comic Book Resources, director Alex Kurtzman had this to say about choosing who to make the lead in the spin-off. "I would not say it’s an easy choice," he revealed. "I would say that there are quite a few things about Venom that are interesting. Venom had several different iterations, and there are several things that are very unique, interesting and specific. And so I think we all want to make sure that we’re making the right choices for a character that’s so beloved." So, no real clues there, but it wouldn't be at all surprising if they pick and choose different things from each version for their Venom. It may be a while until we find out regardless as it's still in the very early stages by the sounds of things. "Yeah, before last Friday came out, we started kind of roughing out a story. Ed Solomon’s going to be writing it very soon. I can’t tell you too much, but I’m really excited about it." Who do you think we'll see in the suit?
