THE FLASH Season 1, Episode 4 Description; "Going Rogue" - Details On 'Captain Cold'

The Flash's fourth episode will see Prison Break star Wentworth Miller make his debut as the villainous Captain Cold in an instalment written by Geoff Johns. The official description reveals plenty of new details about the character, and teases an "epic confrontation"...

WENTWORTH MILLER GUEST STARS AS DC COMICS’ VILLAIN CAPTAIN COLD — The Flash (Grant Gustin) stops a robbery but the culprits get away after shooting a guard, and The Flash chooses to save the man instead of following the criminals. Joe (Jesse L. Martin) shows Barry a book of suspects and Barry identifies Leonard Snart (guest star Wentworth Miller, “Prison Break”) as the leader of the group. Snart revises his plan to steal the Kahndaq Dynasty Diamond and gets a boost when he gets his hands on a stolen “cold gun,” which could kill The Flash. Dr. Wells (Tom Cavanagh) is furious when he finds out that Cisco (Carlos Valdes) built the cold gun without telling anyone and now it’s missing. Meanwhile, Iris (Candice Patton) is getting the silent treatment from Joe because of her relationship with Eddie (Rick Cosnett). Finally, The Flash and Captain Cold have an epic confrontation. Glen Winter directed the episode written by Goff Johns & Kai Yu Wu (#104).

So, it sounds as if Leonard Snart - the future Captain Cold - will already have a team of Rogues when he's introduced here, something which perhaps serves as a good indication of what's to come for him in The Flash. It's interesting that the Cold Gun is a creation of Dr. Harrison Wells too, especially as he's the prime suspect for who could be Reverse-Flash...we'll just have to wait and see!

All of that sounds cool except for this part: "Meanwhile, Iris (Candice Patton) is getting the silent treatment from Joe because of her relationship with Eddie (Rick Cosnett)."

Hmm... Wells made the Cold Gun, and last season's Arrow mentioned Dr Light working at STAR Labs and making a light gun. Wonder if those will have any connections? Also, I'd like Cold, Boomerang and Heatwave to stick with tech-based powers personally.

I am not a fan of Captain Cold's design. I am glad he has a gun, unlike the lame "New" 52. But I want to see that iconic costume. I am so sick of [frick]ing Hollywood being afraid to give these characters their [frick]ing comic costumes. God dammit its a [frick]ing COMIC BOOK TV SHOW!! It will be alright if you give them their comic costume! It does not have to be the exact same but for [frick]'s sake at least attempt it!

@Batmaniac I totally agree. That costume has everything I wanted: it's blue and has a hood. Now Weather Wizard's on the other hand... yawn. How generic. I hope when they bring his bro back as the real WW, they at least throw some green and yellow in his outfit.

@BatManiac

He didn't have the jacket in the picture posted with this article... Does the costume you posted satisfy me? Yes, but I certainly wouldn't mind it looking more like the comics.

So Professor Zoom comes from the future and either outfits normal crooks with futuristic technology or they're just already super-powered thanks to the particle collider accident?

See Agents of SHIELD that's how you explain the existence of "villains of the week" and how you give your hero something worth while to fight each week while still moving the narrative forward.

But who am I kidding Jeff Lobe is running Marvel TV so bad writing is a given.

Looks alright. I do love the villain of Captain Cold.

Would have preferred him to wear a hood.

At least this Captain Cold looks miles better that the 90's Captain Cold from The Flash(90's)

Two things I'm hoping for: 1- that tgey don't turn Snart into a genric bad guy and stick with his "honorable thief" persona. And 2- not a big deal, but I hope he actually has the hood pulled up for some decent screen time. Heck I'm surprised they gave him the eyewear lol
