When Badass Digest caught up with Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige recently, the Avengers: Age of Ultron Executive Producer confirmed that while Captain Marvel was in an early draft of the script, she was taken out of the sequel fairly early on. That's down to them not wanting to just randomly introduce her in costume out of nowhere because "it would have done that character a disservice, to meet her fully formed, in a costume and part of the Avengers already when 99% of the audience would go, ‘Who is that?’ It’s just not the way we’ve done it before." None of this is particularly Earth shattering as we know that Carol Danvers won't make a cameo appearance, but it's pretty interesting. However, it's what Feige said next which is really attention grabbing.
"The way we reveal Scarlet Witch [in costume] at the end of the movie? Those were Captain Marvel plate shots. Joss said, ‘We’ll cast her later!’ And I said, ‘Yeah Joss, we’ll cast her later.’ [Whispers to an invisible associate who isn't Joss] ‘We’re not putting her in there!’" So, that's confirmation we're going to see the Scarlet Witch in a new costume at the end of the movie, and hopefully one which is closer to the comic books than what we've so far seen. Still no mention of Quicksilver which is worrying, but regardless, Feige would then go on to pretty much confirm that Elizabeth Olsen will be reprising the role of Wanda in Captain America: Civil War. "Finally Joss was like ‘Let’s use those plates to let Scarlet Witch fly into frame, give her a big entrance?’ And that makes sense - she’s come to their side, and she deserves the cool intro, which will feed into another movie we start shooting in a few weeks." What do you think about these new details?
