Sounds Like AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON Won't Be Getting An Extended Cut After All

Not yet at least! After sending out an email promising that the home release of Avengers: Age of Ultron would include an extended cut and alternate ending, Amazon are back tracking on that with a new message sent out to their customers. Hit the jump for further details...

By JoshWilding - Apr 29, 2015 09:04 AM EST

We told you a few days ago about plans for an extended cut and alternate ending for Avengers: Age of Ultron when it reaches DVD and Blu-ray. The information came from an email which was sent out by Amazon with a link to pre-order the sequel. Well, the online shopping service has now sent out another - to UK customers - which reveals that the information they sent out "may not be correct" because "the studio hasn't yet confirmed which special features will be included."

That all makes sense, especially when Avengers: Age of Ultron has only just come out in the UK. However, it's hard to imagine that Amazon just plucked this information out of nowhere, so it could just be that they've had a telling off from Disney for revealing something they shouldn't have. We'll have to wait and see, but it will probably be a long time until we get any sort of confirmation...

The extra cut would make the movie more coherent that's for sure.

I feared as much. Marvel NEVER takes advantage of home release to give us better films.

Damn you, Marvel!

Normally I could either take or leave extended editions or directors cut, but think AOU needs one as in its current form it's not knitted together very well. Good film still just not as good as I had hoped.

Is Ultron's final form in the thumbnail? Because I [frick]ing hate the humanoid face.

@Klone His final form is the humanoid face from the trailers. You can thank Joss.

@PymParticle

His final form is [frick]ing stupid then and (having read the plot online) removing everything with Pym makes it seem like utter shit as well. Ant-Man could have been a powerful drama. The trailers... oh God it is shit.

I expected this. Marvel hasn't done extended/directors cuts, I don't see why they would just start now. I only wished they had added a mere 5-10min on the theatrical release just to explain more about Thor's side mission and maybe a bit more background story for the twins. Other than that, it was a near perfect movie.

It needs the full cut,the film suffered because of it.

too bad! this could have changed every thing.. cause i think it wuld have done well for the movie with more extras, like the watchmen director's cut version.

Lol, I see that Pym fanboys are still whining about Pym not creating Ultron, and are now attempting to badmouth the movie. Seriously, just get over yourselves already. It would have made no sense in the MCU for Pym, a character not even introduced yet, to create Ultron. Stark was the best choice. (And don't start whining about Ant-Man not being in Avengers. The main reason that Ant-Man has a chance at success is because Marvel has made all these other successful movies and created a universe for him to fit in. An Ant-Man film released in Phase 1 would have bombed.)

I wished they went with what we thought was Ultron's creation: A dormant peacekeeping program that Pym initially developed from the 1960's. Tony finishes it with left over technology from the Chitauri that gives it Artifical Intelligence, and Ultron is born

I keep forgetting that Marvel sucks when it comes to home releases. Add that to their villains, their scores, and their interpretation of Thor.
captainireland

I don't think it needs an extended cut. There was a sense that certain things were lef out but its pace and run time seemed just right. Not too long, not too short. Just on point.
