ARROW Producers Had "Big Plans" For 'Harley Quinn' Before SUICIDE SQUAD Ruined Them

Most fans agree that season three of Arrow was missing something, but could that something have been Harley Quinn? Talking at MCM London today, Willa Holland revealed that the show's producers had big plans for her before being ordered to scrap them by Warner Bros.!

While Arrow often comes under fire for borrowing too many elements and characters from Batman's corner of the DC Universe, Harley Quinn's surprise (and extremely brief) cameo in the show's stellar second season was still one of the most exciting and intriguing moments in its run.

Unfortunately, that would amount to nothing, as Margot Robbie being cast as the character in David Ayer's Suicide Squad movie left both Harley and Task Force X off limits to The CW series.

Talking at the MCM London (via Spoiler TV) comic book convention today, WIlla Holland (Thea Queen/Speedy) had this to say about the original plans for Harley Quinn in Arrow. "We had big plans for Harley. But, I guess something came down from DC execs that told us to shut it down," the actress revealed to disappointed fans. "I mean we had that tease with the pigtails and the ARGUS outfit but, we’ll never see it. We would love to Harley in Arrow but it will never happen."

Those comments take the villain off the table for good then, but it's hard not to wonder what those "big plans" might have involved. Seeing Harley cause chaos in Starling City would have been quite something, don't you think? As always, be sure to let us know your thoughts on this below.

They seem to have no problem using other characters that are going to be in the movies, such as, I don't know, EVERYONE.

They can't use Harley Quinn but their number one series, the Flash, is getting his own movie in 2018! WTF??????

Are they allowed to use certain movie characters and not use others?

I don't remember seeing her in the second season.

Yes, put Harley on your show so you can butcher yet another awesome comic book character.

[frick] THAT noise.

Seriously, I'm happy DC intervened and said "bullshit you aren't using Harley on your assbackwards show." Arrow is trash, and the fact they tried to get their grubby little hands on Harley so they could [frick] her up is another reason for me to hate this god awful show.

I hope WB decides to make a Green Arrow film so that they end up axing Arrow. The show does nothing for anyone. It's a waste of an 8 o'clock time-slot.

Should we really be talking about "butchering" when Joker is just a damaged teenager now in Suicide Squad?

I still don't understand WB/DC's logic, they have their TV universe and the movie universe, but the TVU can't use characters from the movies, even thou they are portrayed by different actors, with different costumes, personalities and stories.

@Niklander

Well....seeing as how Deadshot was scrapped off the table for the producers to use in the future...there was a reason he died ya know....

Thank God. If DC wanted to make a Batman show than they should have made a Batman show. Instead they took a character, turned him into Batman in every way but the name and now they're giving him Batman villains too?

[frick] Bat-Arrow!

This was for the best. Lord knows they would have [frick]ed Harley up, and I'm someone who likes Arrow for the most part.

but it was a deleted scene tho
why they acting like harley quinn was going to be the next storyline?

Maybe they should start putting Green Arrow villains into the forefront instead of Batman or Teen Titans villains.

One of Batman's biggest villains should not be making their first true onscreen appearance on a small TV show.

As much as I hate the relationship the movies and TV Shows have, I'm glad this didn't happen. Having a horrible TV Ra's al Ghul was enough. I don't need them to have another Batman character and do them poorly too.

In MY OPINION, the show does nothing for anyone.

I spelt it out for you, you're welcome.
