Some stores are already selling Star Wars: The Force Awakens merchandise, and that means that certain toys and artwork is being revealed sooner than Lucasfilm would probably like. The latest features the reveal of the Elite Stormtroopers, a group who will apparently feature heavily in the movie as part of Chrysler's marketing deal with Disney. The First Order looks set to be quite different to the Empire of old, and all of these new Stormtrooper factions should give The Force Awakens a fresh feel...and shift a sh*t ton of merchandise too of course. For some reason that i can't explain, that Disney logo on the pics bothers me... seems like it's... wrong, displaced or something. lol

But the troopers look fine!

The only trooper that will actually be a threat is Phasma, the rest won't kill anything.

Why don't we wait until Episode 7 actually comes out before writing it off?

I can respect that you don't like the armor designs, (took a while for them to grow on me too) but maybe they'll look amazing in the film.

Based on everything I've seen from the film and its production so far, it looks like everyone involved has taken the greatest care and given the utmost respect when dealing with the material.
This film was MADE by fans, people like us, who grew up with Star Wars.
That alone gives me hope and makes me excited to see what they do.

There was a Black Stormtrooper in the trailer but he was a pilot so not sure if it's the same thing or not.
@CinemaHero To me it seems like it being made by a fanboy is actually a problem cause it doesn't look like he's moving the story foward. This whole empire feud should be over long ago. Han and Leia seem to be separated, the heroes are still underdogs and from a lot of the rumors the story seems to be a semi remake of the first movie. They created a new planet just to make it nearly exactly like Tatooine. It seems that the sequel trilogy will be the oposite of the prequels. It will be well made but redunctant. The prequels told an important story in a bad way, the sequels will tell an insignificant story in a good way.

Yeah, I definitely have had similar concerns.

I did want the Empire to be dissolved, (but it does make sense that something as big as the Empire with so many supporters could take a LONG time to fall) I definitely want Han and Leia together, Jakku does seem to just be Tatooine, and if they make Luke fall to the dark side...I'll riot.

But we still don't really know for sure if any of this is true. We just don't.

o far we've got two official trailers, a 15 second instagram teaser, and some BTS stuff.

Honestly, everything else is just rumor, and everything that HAS been officially released (maybe minus the Rebels/Resistance still being underdogs) looks really, really promising and really, really good.

I agree that nostalgic fanboying would hold everything back, but I have faith that they'll balance out nostalgia with a good story that'll ultimately bring us on an awesome new adventure.

Guess we'll see in December.

@CinemaHero Yeah I hope so! Even if what I fear does happen, I still think I'll enjoy the movie, though I won't be talking about it all that much. I did enjoy most of Star Trek Into Darkness despite not being very interested in the story.
