GOTHAM Season 2 Adds LOOKING Star As Batman Villain 'Eduardo Flamingo'

Yet another relatively obscure villain from the comic books is on their way to Gotham, and this time it's the colourful madman known as Flamingo! It sounds like he'll be just as nuts when he clashes with Jim Gordon in the Batman prequel, so read on for further details...

Variety reveals that Looking alum Raul Castillo has joined the cast of Gotham season two as Eduardo Flamingo. The villain is set to first appear in episode nine, and is described by Fox as, "one of Gotham’s most dangerous hitmen. Killing for him isn’t just a job, it’s an art form. Armed with a spiked chain and an appetite for flesh, this rock-a-billy assassin will prove to be one of Detective Jim Gordon’s (Ben McKenzie) trickiest foes." Castillo has lined up a pretty high profile gig with Ricky Gervais' Netflix original movie Special Correspondents, and it's unclear whether he'll show up in just the one episode of Gotham or will reappear as Victor Zsasz has. Either way, you can see McKenzie tease the villain's arrival in a recent interview on Late Night with Seth Meyers below.

Saw McKenzie on Seth Myers last night. He didn't annoy me. His show does though.

This might sound crazy, but I really enjoy this show since I've started viewing it as an elseworlds tail. On the other hand, I find the Flash extremely boring for it's repetitiveness. Like I said, crazy!

@GuardianAngel

Shouldn't THAT be the way to enjoy comic shows (even movies)? just don't take it to seriously since the characters in comic's mythology are created exactly for that purpose!, to be reimagined over and over again while keeping their essences.

El Flamingo? The stupidest character to come out of the ape-shit crazy run on Batman that Grant Morrison cranked out a couple of years ago?

Wow... yet ANOTHER reason not to watch this show!

(It's funny, actually, but Gotham and Morrison's Batman run are actually a lot alike. They both want to be campy and gritty at the same time, and the closest thing they can find to a middle ground is being cartoonishly broad, garishly violent, and largely unpleasant.)

Since we're going into Grant Morrison territory, about we get a proper live action adaptation of Professor Pyg? He's my favourite 21st century Batman villain. They should do his origin by saying he was just born a psychopath and then explain the beginnings of his pig motif.

Also, is it just me, or is it a bit bizarre to refer to a Latin American assassin played by a Latin American actor as "rock-a-billy"?

Eh. Just sayin'.

Morrison's Batman run?

Great stuff!

@InvisibleSanji: Well, his run on Batman and Robin was pretty fun, I'll give you that. Dick Grayson and Damian Wayne made a pretty good team!

@ThFox Yep. Morrison's best works are non-Batman related, except for Batman and Robin. Grayson/Damian/Alfred/Joker...such a fun dynamic.
