Jeremy Renner Compares His Work In MISSION IMPOSSIBLE To THE AVENGERS

Offering an update of sorts on The Bourne Legacy, Jeremy Renner also compares the "grounded" Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol to the "fantasty" of Marvel's The Avengers.

In a lengthy interview with Get Hampshire on his role in Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol, Jeremy Renner was asked how that differs to working on The Bourne Legacy. "They’re very, very different pieces of cinema, both meant to entertain," he said. "Mission’s a bit more fun, more smiles in it, it’s a popcorn movie. They’re obviously both spy movies but very different, Bourne’s never been on a mission, you know what I mean? You never see him do spy-work at all. He’s always running for his life and that’s kind of what that thing is in a sense."

When asked how far along filming is on the controversial film (fans weren't happy to hear that they were making a Bourne flick sans Matt Damon) the Oscar nominated actor added: "I’m halfway through, I finish that at the end of February."

"It was a lot of fun," Renner said when talk turned to the differences between Ghost Protocol and The Avengers. "Mission was a massive movie then The Avengers came round, and that’s a huge movie. There are all these superheroes in it, passing a baton between superheroes There’s a lot of fighting! But that should be a big, fun movie. It’s a whole other world. We’re dealing with other worlds, and other things like Thor and all. Mission has got that more, I’m not going to say it’s the most grounded movie, but it’s got a sense of realism to it."

"We’re climbing that building. We’re doing these things. The circumstances might be fantasy but you know we’re doing real s**t. And when it comes to The Avengers that’s a bit more fantasy."

@grif, Vision, yep. Agreed. There's an entire story line right there. Vision vs Ultron.

Grif: LOL, Hawkeye volunter for Vision's absence coz he's still on holiday with Scarlet Witch, no worries he will be a part on Avengers 2.

Yeah, not the same as Vision. Close approximate for sure. But that was more of a tip of the hat to the Invaders than Avengers.

I've seen MI4 and believe me there is not a spec of realism in that movie. It is preposterous from beginning to end.
