Another Report Debunks Previous Rumors Of The Skrulls Being In THE AVENGERS

Early reports indicated that the still mysterious aliens in The Avengers would be the Skrulls, although one reliable source now reveals that they've been rebranded and redesigned.

Badass Digest's Devin Faraci was one of the first to bring us the news that The Avengers would be facing off against the Skrulls in the upcoming superhero ensemble while Marvel Studios' Kevin Feige actually told him directly that Fox own only the right to the Super Skrull while in fact Marvel own the rest of the Skrull Empire.

Here's what he's now had to say in regards to the still unrevealed alien villains. "Well, it turns out that either he was jumping the gun or someone in legal didn't want to test the difference between those two concepts, and the aliens in The Avengers have been rebranded as something else, as well as redesigned."

So, is this just a guess or even more details from his "close source" to Marvel? That's not completely clear, although this would certainly make some sense after the slew of recent rumours which has pegged Loki's army from everything to a new Joss Whedon created race, Atlanteans, Kree and the "Redacted" among others.

i have heard this on here before. It sounds completely possible, i wouldn't be suprised, i just hope the regular fanboy would be able to understand when going to the movie and not get upset that the skrulls have been changed.

Not them after all?? I thought it was confirmed a long time ago that the Skrulls weren't going to be the aliens. I was unaware that rumor had started up again.

okay.. I'm just confused. I know Marvel leased out the movie rights to some of its heroes... like Spiderman, the X-Men and the FF... to finally make movies the way they wanted to make them, esp from their own production studio but. the skrulls?

C'mon guys! I know all of you are trained to know everything about a movie before it comes out and if it isn't, you start bitchin! I know we are a community of impatient nerds but can all of you not accept that you will just have to wait until May 4th or April 27th for us Irish and UK folk :) Of course if the aliens are revealed in the new trailer that last part will be invalid but they shouldn't reveal them at all before the theatrical release and it should be a theatre experience for all of you,.. That's what I'm going to try and do.

If they can't use Skrulls straight up, I don't think it's a good idea to redesign them as some generic, knock-off race that are supposed to be Skrulls on a wink.

It's like McDonald's selling Large Mics instead of Big Macs.

The Redacted sounds dangerous. :P. But, really? FOx owns the Skrull empire. Bummer, was hoping for the Skrulls. This makes me a bit less excited about this movie.
