Talking to IGN Movies, Mark Ruffalo has revealed a few new interesting nuggets of information about Marvel's The Avengers. To read the interview in full, be sure to click on the link at the bottom of the page to check it out.

On His Interpretation Of Bruce Banner:

I think Banner's aging and living with this thing since -- now it's been two years since his last "one." We're kind of going for this world weariness of accepting -- trying to get to the point where he can live with it, and maybe master it. Come to peace with it. And so there's this kind of nice ironic wryness to Banner. He's not sulking and miserable, you know. I think that's sort of a throwback -- we had talked about it being a throwback to Bill Bixby, which was the Banner that I grew up on basically. He had kind of a charm about him, and this world weariness. He was on the run, but he was still able to flirt sometimes and smile sometimes, and occasionally he'd crack a joke.

On Whether The Hulk Talks And If It's Ruffalo's Voice:

He Does. As of this moment, I am. But you never know what they're going to do. They might watch it and go, "Oh my god!" Yeah, he's a smart Hulk. He hasn't graduated to that yet, but hopefully he might be on the way to that. I don't know where it's gonna go after this, but there's definitely -- I feel like we're trying to open the door to integration of the two. I liken it [to] the guy who tried to break a bucking Bronco. He has some tiny little semblance of control of it, but then again it's completely out of control. That's what the last one left off, I felt like.

On Whether The History Between Bruce Banner And The Super Solider Serum/Captain America Is Explored:

We don't really get to see that moment. We kind of hop over that, but there is a history there.

On Whether He'd Be Interested In A Solo Hulk Movie:

Why not! It was the one character -- you know, I was a comic book fan when I was a kid and I always loved the Hulk. When The Incredible Hulk, that show, came on, I would not miss that. And so if I was going to find myself in that world, this would be the guy that I would be most interested in doing. To make a very short answer long: Yeah, I'd love to have him do his own movie.

On What He Thinks About 3D:

Um, fad? A cool fad? I don't know, I'm into this whole 4D thing -- have you heard about 4D? That sounds cool for this kind of movie. I don't know, it's fun to watch a 3D movie, but I don't know. I have no idea what's gonna happen with 3D. It seems to be like every few years we roll up something like Smell-O-Rama...

STARRING:

Chris Evans as Steve Rogers/Captain America
Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark/Iron Man
Chris Hemsworth as Thor
Jeremy Renner as Clint Barton/Hawkeye
Scarlett Johansson as Natasha Ramanoff/Black Widow
Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner/Hulk
Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury
Clark Gregg as Agent Coulson
Cobie Smulders as Maria Hill
Tom Hiddleston as Loki

RELEASE DATE: April 26th, 2012. (UK) May 4th, 2012. (US)

No wonder he lets Hulk steal the show in all the commercials.

Also, that characterization of Banner sounds spot on.

Im really starting to warm up to this guy! I was kinda cheesed off when i first heard Nortan wasn't reprising his role, but I think they've done a damn good job with Hulk/Banner, from what i've seen

one of the main issues i want them to tackle in this movie is what happens when the hulk eats an entire 6 foot sub then transforms back into banner to make him digest it and then poop it out.

Eric Bana= fan of the Bill Bixby TV show

HOLY SH!T I TOTALLY FORGOT ABOUT THE DEFENDERS. I'd be fine with seeing a Defenders movie after Avengers 2!

Iron Man 3 (Mandarin)
Thor 2 (Enchantress and Executioner)
Cap 2 (Baron Zemo)
Dr. Strange
Avengers 2 (Thanos)
Iron Fist/ Luke Cage
Sub Mariner
Thor 3 (if you'd even need one)
Black Panther
Cap 3 (introduce Falcon, return of Red Skull)
Defenders
Avengers 3 (by this time, you wouldn't need the original line up. Introduce more characters (Vision), have Ultron be the villain.)

then wait 20 years and reboot them all.

@OdinsBeard They probably won't address that. But there WAS a Burger King commercial right in the middle of Iron Man so you never know.

So the question is, does Avengers have a Subway or other sandwich franchise contract?
ralfinader

Ruffalo would voice Hulk's lines while acting in the motion cap suit. But post-production will dub Lou's grunts and growls, and probably computer enhanced voice (his or Mark's) for any dialogue. I love Lou, him and Bill gave me some of the best television I had growing up, but he is deaf, and with that comes the slight speech impediment he suffers. Still, they could have Pee-Wee herman voice the Hulk at this point and I would still be first in line for tickets.
