Chris Evans And Chris Hemsworth Talk THE AVENGERS Deleted Scenes

Talking to Collider, Chris Evans had this to say about some of the deleted scenes we can expect to see on the DVD and Blu-ray. "I was talking to Joss and he was like, 'So apparently I shot a five hour movie' so a lot of stuff had to go. There was a lot more backstory about Cap getting a bad feel of the world. Just not adapting to the way things work. You can't have too much backstory for each individual character." Chris Hemsworth on the other hand doesn't think there will be any extra Thor footage to be found. Be sure to check out the video interview below for that and more on their initial reactions to the script and meeting young fans of the characters they play.

In an interview with MTV Splash Page, actress Cobie Smulders has speculated about the chances of returning as Maria Hill in either Iron Man 3, Thor 2,Captain America 2 or even the long rumoured S.H.I.E.L.D. spin-off. "I mean, everything's up in the air right now. I know they're starting 'Iron Man 3' and then 'Thor [2]' and then 'Captain America' again. I don't know about S.H.I.E.L.D.'s involvement with all of them, but I hope to be a part of it," she said at the Tribeca Film Festival on Sunday.

"I really loved doing stunts. And I hope that if we do more films that I can get more physical. I want to hit somebody with this," laughed the How I Met Your Mother star as she held up her fist. "Is that intense? I got to do a lot of this," she adds making a gun motion before going back to a fist, "but not so much this. So, I'd like to do more of this." I hope the Blu-ray has a TON of deleted scenes... but most of all I hope there is a director's cut version!!

Whedon already said that the directors cut is the actual film that we got in theatres.

@Ghostfire

Yeah I feel like if ANYTHING bad could be said about the movie, its that there wasn't enough character development... and that's not even Whedon's fault.

I feel like deleted dialogue scenes could add a lot to it

I really want a shield movie with hawkeye and black widow!! They were amazing in avengers and I'd love to see them against hydra or aim!! Could also be. Good way to tease new characters by little references such as 'atlantis has been discovered or wakanda has some risky technology small things!!!

I haven't seen the film yet, but of what I've heard theres good character development. And not to mention that the previous solo films were meant for that.

Man, I was hoping they'd have a deleted scene of how Thor got to Earth! Rather SEE it than HEAR about it from the dialogue.

30 minutes of extra footage sounds orgasmic though, as long as most of it isn't rough cut sizzle reel footage.

@Ckal - man, Thor's really not the focus. He has some good lines (specially at the beginning and in the end) and mighty action, but they focused on Banner and Stark if I had to pick the top 2.

i understand making the theater release shorter on time, but i would love, and pay extra, to have a 5 hour movie that shows all deleted scenes. they call that a win win; hear me marvel/disney?

playing devil's advocate one could conclude that the 'PLUS:' of Cobie being up for a sequel 'spoils' that she doesnt die in the Avengers movie.

I am depressed that there'll be no extended Director's Cut. I love Joss and all but I wish he'd do it. And that part about the little kids is adorable :].

Just think how much more coin a 5 hour Directors Cut release of the film in theatres would pull in...

Get your head out of the sand and just do it Marvel Exec's...

You would have every comic book fan going to see it again and again...

Hey AUSSYACE, this yours from the "All is about Avengers" article:
"Seriously... Has this site now become the Official Avengers movie site...
I just hope TDKR gets the same attention and it will..."

Well in CBM´s defense, remember this is a USER´S GENERATED SITE, so 90% of the articles are written by us.

granted, Galactus and the other EDITORS can delete or of course improve your articles, or publish some of their own, but what i´m saying is that THE AMOUNT of articles for a particular Movie in this site, IS PROPORTIONAL to the buzz and news and photos and clips and Stuff is going out there.

I would also like to see the "deleted scenes" restored to where they fit into the movie and the result presented as an "extended version" by whatever name they want to use. Five hours of Avengers sounds incredibly cool to me. We get that, I'm gonna have to find the money to buy Blu-Ray. But for now, I just want to see the movie as Whedon intended for it to be shown in the theater. Won't be long now!

hey..massexecutions, i'm wit u brutha...

especially, if marvel gives us the extended version of the movie in blu ray OR a RE-EDITED version of ALL the 5 movies, making it into ONE huge MARVEL SAGE, Vol. 1. i'll buy the dang blu ray fo sho....UNLESS... they have em in regular DVD too...hehe
niknik
niknik - 5/2/2012, 6:50 AM
A 4 hour extended cut Blu-Ray release ala LOTR would be a huge money maker. I mean HUGE. Disney and Marvel must be aware of this. If not, they are a lot dumber than I thought.....and yeah, I also hate it when the deleted scenes are relegated to the "bonus features" section of the disc and not properly integrated into the film as they should be.

So according to Joss there's almost 3 hours of unused footage (unless he was exaggerating about 5 hours) and we're only getting 30 minutes of it on the blu-ray?! Give me my 3 more hours!
