Set Construction Photos From THE AVENGERS Reveal Thanos's Throne And More

Duncan Crawford was a part of the set construction team that worked on Marvel's The Avengers, and he has revealed some great behind-the-scenes images of how some of the film's biggest set pieces were created, including Thanos's throne!

As well as constructing part of the Helicarrier, Duncan Crawford (who worked on Marvel's The Avengers as part of the set construction team) also contributed to the "promontory" set where Thor and Loki confront each other for the first time in the film and Thanos's throne. On that, he says, "When they told me who the set was for, my comic-nerd excitement was pushed completely over the edge. This set was proof that Whedon was going to give a very special nod to the hardcore comic fans. Thanos. When James, the Production Designer spoke that name, my spastic outburst left him shaking his head and commenting that he was going to have give me any further information on a drip-feed so my head wouldn't explode." I think we can all relate to THAT! Here are a selection of photos from Duncan's blog, but be sure to click on the link below to view even more.

@Consultant: For me it gives me an idea of how much care and effort went to making this movie authentic. Like watching a great comic artist doing a sketch before other people ink and color each panel. But that's just me.

They should've had somebody standing next to the throne so we could get a sense of the size scale.

amazing environment for Thanos and his bro's. A comic vision brought to life. I can't remember anything like this in film before...then again I am high. Best superhero flick ever. Joss owned it.

Silver surfer is my favorite comic book character n i hated the way he was done in the ff movie, fox owns the rights to ff so i think marvel studios could use or reboot the surfer on film just without mentioning the ff right?

THANOS is one badass mofo. Him conquering the entire universe multiple times proves that.

They should hold out of making Thanos the main villain until part 3, bring all the heroes introduced into the MCU up to that point for an INFINITY GAUNTLET plotline. That would be a movie I'd probably go blind seeing onscreen.
