Disney Promise More Content In Delayed "Phase One" AVENGERS ASSEMBLED Box Set

When the Marvel Cinematic Universe: Phase One - Avengers Assembled box set was first revealed, it was met with a great deal of excitement from fans. Featuring all six of the Marvel Studios movies released so far over ten discs, it was set to be released in a replica of the briefcase used by Nick Fury in the superhero ensemble and would also include a glowing replica of the Tesseract. However, a German luggage firm filed a lawsuit because of the similarities between the replica briefcase being used for this set and one of their products, indefinitely delaying the release. Well, Disney have now issued the following statement about the new Spring 2013 date.

We are sorry to inform you that there will be a delay in the availability of the Marvel Cinematic Universe: Phase One – Avengers Assembled Collection. Originally, the Collection was to be available on September 25, 2012, but unfortunately we are now unable to make that date. We are currently working with Marvel to identify the exact date when the Collection will be available, but we expect it to be during Spring, 2013.

The Collection will come in a new briefcase and include even more than the content and features that were first advertised. We know that you are disappointed in this delay, and we are working hard to get your Collection to you as soon as possible. We will have an updated announcement for you in the coming weeks which will include actual timing and final details. Once again, we apologize for the delay and hope that when you do receive the Marvel Cinematic Universe: Phase One – Avengers Assembled Collection, you will enjoy it as much as Marvel enjoyed creating it.

Marvel Studios presents in association with Paramount Pictures Marvel’s The Avengers--the super hero team up of a lifetime, featuring iconic Marvel super heroes Iron Man, the Incredible Hulk, Thor, Captain America, Hawkeye and Black Widow. When an unexpected enemy emerges that threatens global safety and security, Nick Fury, Director of the international peacekeeping agency known as S.H.I.E.L.D., finds himself in need of a team to pull the world back from the brink of disaster. Spanning the globe, a daring recruitment effort begins.

That's actually pretty cool of them. They could've just kept the content exactly the same and just revised the packaging. But the fact that they're adding more material is pretty awesome.

What makes it not worth it for me is it doesnt include the dvds that came with Cap, Thor, and IM2. There really isnt anything to justify getting this other than from a collector standpoint. You get more for less by gettin them in the special editions and 3d combos

Extended & directors cut options, Phase 2 sneak peek, Antman ComiCon short, Iron Man 3 traIler, Thor: DW trailer, Infinity Gauntlet motion comic... Just a few hints Disney. ;)

That is pretty cool of them though. I just may pick this up if they throw a few of those in there.

So since Disney obviously has the money, they should just buy that company. And if they wont sell then Disney should just buy Germany as a whole. Simple quick fix.

On a more serious note Disney should go back and render Iron Man, Iron Man 2, & Incredible Hulk in 3D and include that as an exclusive in this box set. Then they should also give an extended cut of Avengers as well as a full set of the Avengers 3D glasses they put out around movie release time.

thats such a DISNEY move, buy it now, then buy it again next year, for that lil extra. or maybe they'll say "buy it now before we lock it back in our VAULT FOREVER!" Marvel made a bad choice going with Disney. every month its something else
