@ToTheManWith...yea..

Hard to deny Jim Lee's drawing abilities, he's one of the strongest artists in the business. His work has always been clean, beautiful, and original for years now. I wouldnt change the style either, it aint broke.

I greatly dislike the new Superman costume. No matter who draws it, I have yet to find it impressive. I want the original costume back. Just my opinion.

Demichild- Do they have more than just comic book stuff there? Like movies and what not? If I go I will be taking the wife, who doesn't quite share the love I do of comics.

it stayed the same, for real

same body types, you wud never know cyclops was called slim.

my fanboyish gripe is his art is still flat after all these years. he uses same thickness of lines allover and can't do shadows for shit, thats why he cross hatches. that shadow and depth is all the colorist not him, thats what gives drawings 3dimensional quality. jim lee's art is beautiful as [frick] but falls flat.

compare to the king jack kirby

that is depth and perspective, like u looking into it(a window) not staring at it (a wall).

and thats all the intelligence i can muster today mi amigos, back to cursing like a mother[frick]ing drunken sailor :P

Jim Lee is overrated. Poor anatomy, stuck in the 90s. Kinda like the DCnU actually

@ Jollem

started off with alpha flight went onto punisher war journal after that uncanny x-men & x-men.

x-men 1 sold 8.1 million copies($7,000,000)in the guinness book of records as the biggest selling comic.

@ToTheManWithTheSmallGenitals

No, he's improved drastically since the 90's. His style is similar because that's his style. But compare his technique, proportions and anatomy, storytelling, etc. He's SO much better. Compare the Gen13 cover he did in the 90's to what he does now and it's evident.

Only 90's artist to not improve is Rob Liefeld.

"Lets see you do better" is the worst argument that can be made ever about anything. I cant build a car but I know Honda isn't BMW.

Jim Lee's art work is best when he isn't forcing the hatching onto everything. His hatching shadows kill me. Sometimes they follows the form sometimes they go where ever they like.

@M3T4LL0 that is a bad picture to use for an example of depth. He is laying characters on top of each other. His Batman piece in Jollem's post is presenting that skill very nice though.

I have a feeling that promo art for shows and banners are down in under an hour and with no real thought. He draws these guys everyday and I would bet he could crank these out pretty fast.

No one can touch Jim Lee's pencils. I have followed him from X-Men to WildC.A.T.S. to Batman to JL. Not a fan of Supes, but I will be collecting this series. I do wish Lee was still in Marvel though, or still doing work on WildC.A.T.S.
