THIS is how the X-Men franchise should be! Cyclops and WOlverine fighting side by side, and not making Logan the only hero in the world

I don't get why there are a bunch of mutants that look like they live at the bottom of the ocean.

How the hell are we meant to keep up with all these mutants?

Oh well at least Wolverine is Wolverine and not Sabretooth or Magneto in his body....... That just wouldn't make sense right Spiderman?

what I find interesting is how Cyclops power now seems to be close to what Matthew Vaughn did with Havok in First Class, lol

movie influence right there?

Cyclops was always a strong character, of course until the movies so I'm glad they're bringing Cycy back but I hate that X mask they got on him. I'd almost prefer a Robocop shield or better yet he learns to control his eyes. Couldn't Prof. X go in there and flip a switch in his mind for something like that? Just thinkin.

The three-headed guy looks like the Apocalypse clone having some issues perhaps. No idea who squidgirl is.

Dont think the squid chick been in the books yet. And thats not Genesis.

Both of these two haven't been in the books yet. Either they're students at Wolvie's school who haven't been in the front yet, or new mutants that's about to pop up.

Yeah, X-men used to be epic. Now it's just metro-sexual garbage.

How is Cyclops the rouge now and Wolvie is the leader? Dumb.

God I miss the 90's!

Cyclops is the rogue now because the Celestial designers of the entire mutant race showed up, named him protector of his race, and gave him an ultimatum: Wipe out the humans or see the mutant race destroyed. Immediately after that he used the Phoenix power to take over the planet and in the end he murdered Xavier. Then he broke out of prison.
So everyone has good reason to treat him like an ass. And Wolverine had the right idea in seeing that his race needed a new Xavier to teach them to live in harmony.

@oldhardwood I agree. Xmen used such a visually awesome group. now that they dont have that 80s and 90s team together they're less interesting to me

This is the way it should be Scott and James working together. Their rivalry aside they know each other as teammates better than 99% of the Marvel Universe.

lol at the Cyclops haters. You Wolverine lovers are such hypocrites.

For the longest time Scott was the good boy and Wolverine was the rogue character. Now the roles are reversed and Cyclops is still a "douche".

Cyclops has one of the richest histories in comics and has always done things in the name of the Mutant race.

It's called character development. Both have rich histories. Look at the great build up to making Wolverine a pacifist: Memories of all his past sins restored at once. Best friend dies. Forced to kill all of his own children. Sees his child students murdering people. Fellow X-Men use violence to take over the world. It all makes good sense to me that a man with his memories restored might finally work toward some closure.
As for Cyclops, he can't help that he's a douche. He's suffering from the same problem Magneto was. He was appointed the Celestial protector of his species, but then had his mind wiped, so there is a subconscious battle raging within him that he can't understand. Somewhere inside a voice is telling him that the mutant/human war is unavoidable, so he cannot accept Xavier's ideology of peace.

People always say they miss the 90s comic, but let's be the honest the storylines were terrible, but that art Jim Lee should draw all comics

I like the schism, it adds an interesting dynamic to the group, it works as great character development (particularly for Cyclops, who of all mutants has a right to act this way considering everything he's had to endure), it hearkens back to the whole Prof X/MLK and Magneto/Malcolm X but in a more faithful way (because Malcolm X wasn't a villain like Magneto was, he was just more radical than MLK), and it's great seeing Wolverine and Cyclops at odds, because they make great rivals for one another.

The only thing I'm not too keen on is how Wolverine is now leading the [for lack of a better word] "good" X-Men though. I like Wolverine when he's living slightly closer to the edge, slightly more willing to get his hands dirty. Someone like Storm or Beast or Kitty should be the leader instead. In fact, it'd be understandable if Wolverine chose to do the same as what Cyclops has done, and I like the idea that the only reason he didn't (apart from his loyalty to Prof X) is because he just doesn't like Scott.

Cyclops and Wolverine have had the most character development by far of all the X-men (and arguably the Marvel Universe). Wolverine's development has been very disappointing to me. The guy knows he's a hypocrite and tries to find redemption by reforming himself into a pacifist and running a school. Commendable? I guess.

Cyclops, on the other hand, accepts that his hands have been stained past standard reformation. So, he thinks bigger. He's willing to martyr himself and take onto himself the sins necessary to preserve the greater good. Instead of retreating into some hokey hippie isolationism, he's decided to confront the weight of his misdeeds head on. He's not worried about his own salvation. He's only concerned with the future of his species and making life better for everyone, including humans. If he was Magneto, he'd have no problems killing humans on a whim. He's not a mutant supremacist. He just wants a better world (like he tried to achieve with the Phoenix Force).

From my point of view, Wolverine is profoundly selfish. People thinking of Cyclops as arrogant or a "douche" fail to grasp his motivations. He's given up on himself a long time ago. His current incarnation reminds me of William Wallace in BraveHeart (wife died, wants to die, fighting the good fight until he can finally rest).

lol at cyclops is a badass and wolverine sucks. or wolverine is a hypocrite and cyclops is a douchebag. i actually like both characters right now. wolverine has lived a long time and he is working on the whole i can be reformed thing. cyclops is going through emotional turmoil. both are acting in what they think is the best interest on the mutant race. wolverine being the new prof x and cyclops being the new magneto.

Why don't they just kill that dumb [frick]ing over-rated runt.. His tough guy act is wearing thin and the story has been beaten up worse than a pinata..

Maybe then we can get rid of his lame overrated ass and hugh jackman from the movie-verse.. The were doing it right with first-class.. n now.. they're gonna [frick] the whole thing up with that short useless [frick] who can be killed by almost every other guy..

Cyclops is the the man. Wolverine? Not so much. There's just too much of him. Cyclops makes the tough decisions. Always has. The quintessential leader, no matter on what side of the fence he stands.
