Mark Ruffalo May Play Bruce Banner In 'The Avengers'?

HULK SMASH! Contrary to little glimpses of hope that Edward Norton may still be Bruce Banner in 'The Avengers', it is now said that Mark Ruffalo is semi-officially taking the role!

I reported last night that I received a tip from someone from Comic-Con 2010 that said there were some talks that Edward Norton may still be playing Bruce Banner in 'The Avengers', and all the controversy surrounding Norton and Marvel Studios have all just been a publicity stunt to drum up interest.

Now says Big Shiny Robot: "Told by Joss Whedon that my bet for Mark Ruffalo as The Hulk shouldn’t be changed! It’s semi-official!".

I really am not too keen on this. I like Ruffalo and I would be fine with him as Banner if Norton had never been cast, but I really want Norton to be in 'The Avengers' to make it seem like a full on crossover event. One actor being absent from 'The Avengers' really turns me off to the film. Besides, who wants to see yet a THIRD actor as Bruce Banner in less then 10 years?

When it comes down to it, I'm not bothered by it that much.Bruce Banner has very little to do with the Avengers.Hulk is a "member", not Banner.Also, he can't have that much screen time in the movie.

Yes, using Norton does preserve continuity, but overall, it's not going to affect the movie.

We don't need yet another actor playing BRUCIE, it just wont feel right and whats the point of MARVEL tying all the movies together if they recast the main players, it just takes you out of the whole movie!

What if Edward's no-return was all a big prank and when we see the Avengers we see that Edward is in the movie and not some other actor they are making us belive is in the movie instead of Edward.
